New Boy in the Barn !!!
"KIDD KOLT"

Most precious cargo, we've been praying and keeping our fingers crossed for almost a year now. Mom had lost her foal last year and the owner had not shared any information with us. We decided she should grow old and gray gracefully with one of her kids around to keep her company. As a dam of many of America's fastest Arabian racehorses, most of her babies were taken away to training never to return. Naturally we were hoping for a filly, but we didn't care as long as the foal was healthy. Thanks to 2 great AAEP vets and some really good horse feed along with a lot of research and knowledge, God has truly blessed us with the sweetest little bundle of energy.

Coming up on 6 months we are beginning the weaning process. We were going to wean at 4 months if it was a filly and then decided to let Mom wean him herself so they could be together as long as possible because at 8 months we will have to seperate them permanently. When the vet came out to give everyone their shots, she suggested we wean him now to restore Mieta's girlish figure. She's having a harder time  adjusting than her colt. She jumped her stall gate @ 2 am the first night, worried that we were taking her baby away from her as they have in the past as her progeny have all been very good race horses. Once she realized he wasn't leaving the farm, she calmed down.
