My Dedication

To be completely honest, I actually became a Neptunes fan before I even knew who they were. I remember the pre-discovery days when I would listen to the radio, anxious to hear my favorite songs like Suckers (Philly's Most Wanted) or Girls Dem Suga (Beenie Man), but I never knew who was behind the beats.
On the flipside, I was busy wondering who that guy was in the "Shake It Fast" video that also popped up in Ray J's video for "Wait A Minute". I would see him again in the video for some song called "Lapdance" for some group called N.E.R.D.
It was finally all put together when I read the April 2001 issue of The Source magazine. There in the article, right in the middle of the magazine, was the face I kept seeing in the videos along with an Asian dude who I had yet to familiarize myself with.
They were the Neptunes, Pharrell Williams (guy in the videos) and Chad Hugo. And they are music's uber-producers, making spacy, techno tinged beats that were behind some of my favorite songs. They have formed a group, N.E.R.D., consisting of Pharrell, Chad, and a friend Shay (governmet name: Sheldon Hailey). The name is an acronym, No One Ever Really Dies and the first album from N.E.R.D. is coming out, In Search Of...
And so, I was inspired to make a website for the Neptunes and N.E.R.D. because I really love the music the Neptunes make and I hope to love the music of N.E.R.D. just as much.
I hope you enjoy the site.
