Bitton Station
This is the beginning of my model of Bitton Station. These are sketches that I have drawn (with a pencil !) The model will be built to a scale of 4mm:ft  OO scale. I am thankfull of the help I have received  from Tony Wray of the Avon Valley Railway. He took many pictures of the actual station and emailed them to me. Prototype pictures are very helpful when building a model that will hopefully represent the real thing as closely as possible.  All prototype pictures copywrite A. Wray 2002.
See also the online newsletter of the Avon Valley railway produced by Tony at

The Model.
This is progress so far. February 28th 2003. This view is from the platform side. I am about to start the roof slates using the Slaters product, which involves cutting strips for each row and are quite effective when complete.
Below are a few pictures showing the model in various stages of completion. Basic construction is 40thou Evergreen plastic sheet with individuallly cut stones also from evergreen product. I scratch-built the windows from plastic strip and clear plastic.
A representaion of the interior will be fitted eventually. With these big windows it will be easily seen.
This view is from the platform side. This door is to the Gents and the small window is the ladies waiting room.
This view is from the car park side. This door is to the office. The larger door is the entrance to the booking hall.
