A Handful of Seeds |
January, 1994 (LJA) |
I bring with me a handful of seeds |
I can look out and see what you don't want to be |
And can help you make a new start |
What will I do with them |
If I look out and see somebody like me |
It's all I have--this handful of seeds-- |
Who cares just like me from the heart. |
They're all I have to spend. |
Will I share them with you if when I look at you |
It only takes a handful of seeds |
I see the person I don't think you should be |
And wisdom how to use them |
Or will I hold them close, protecting myself |
Then you can help somebody in need |
And just keep my seeds all to me? |
You can be a friend. |
I bring with me a handful of seeds |
If you'll reach out and share your handful of seeds |
What will I do with them |
With someone with feelings like you |
It's all I have--this handful of seeds-- |
You'll find your seeds will multiply |
They're all I have to spend. |
And others will share their seeds too. |
When I look in your eyes and I see your despair |
You bring with you a handful of seeds |
Like a mirroring of my own soul |
What will you do with them? |
Then I'll stay here and work beside you |
It's all you have--this handful of seeds |
And together we'll find a new goal. |
They're all you have to spend. |
It only takes a handful of seeds |
And wisdom how to use them |
Then I can help somebody in need |
