I am trying to find out more about these Hoover's. Harold Hoover born Dec. 16, 1903 in Harrisburg to a Frank E. Hoover and Clara Sevilla Kinsinger. Many of Harold's siblings and his father died from either influenza or diptheria @ 1917. Clara moved with her remaining 3 sons (Walter, Harold, Charlie) to Florida. She worked as a housekeeper in a rooming house. She met a border named Mr. Booe and marri d him. I have found in the Social Security Index that Harold died in Daytona Beach Florida in March 1981. I can't find any other information on the family. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Am looking for Fred Hoover bn abt 1811. Was a flag bearer for the Union in the Civil War. Had red hair and brown eyes. Married a woman named Dukett (she born abt 1812). They had a son John who later settled in Colorado reportedly. His wife died in childbirth with a daughter, my great- great-grandmother Ellen Jane Hoover born July 1832. Fred supposedly died that year (1832) as well. Ellen Jane married John William Fawcett from Dublin, Ireland. They had seven children, their oldest, John Wm., born in E. St. Louis, Ill. Two children born in Springfield, Ill, one in Calhoun county, Ill, and the last three in Joplin, Missouri. Ellen Jane died 13 Oct 1907 in Pueblo, Colorado. I'm looking for more information on Peter Hoover who wed Mary Huber in Lancaster PA in 1791. Their son Jacob was born in 1795 in Westmoreland Co. PA and married Christine Bush or Bushe. Jacob and Christine had a son Peter born in 1824 and another son J cob who was born in 1826. The younger Jacob married Cynthia Ann Ague in 1849. They had 14 children, some born in Ohio and some near St. Johns in Michigan. The youngest child (my g.grandfather) was Ralph Hoover born in 1879. This is a great site! Any i fo on any of the above would be very much appreciated.

I am a historian researching a labor organizer from the 1880s named Hiram F. Hover (could possibly be Hoover). Here is what little I know: he may have been from TX; around 1877 he probably married a woman whose last name was STOCKMAN in Aiken, South Caro ina; about 1885 he was in Knoxville, TN; in 1886, he went to Lexington, KY, then Asheville, NC, then Hickory, NC; in 1887 he travelled through GA and SC and in Sept. 1887 moved to New York City. His wife worked as a dress cutter. He was a member of the night of Labor at one time (until 1886, I think) and may have been involved with the Socialistic Labor Party. Any information on this man would be very helpful.

He was an apprentice o Abraham Beavers to learn shoe making in 1816 in Floyd County, KY. I am looking for information on Christian & Catherine (Bair) Hoover from Lanacaster Co. PA. They were born, raised & married in Lancaster Co. They moved to Erie Co. New York in abt 1824. From there they moved to ST. Joseph CO. Indiana in 1843. I am trying to found out who their parents are as I am trying to make a connection to President Herbert Hoover. My info from my grandmother says that her Uncle Andrew Hoover sent his Family Tree to Herbert and that Herbert sent a letter back saying it looked like the were 3rd cousins. Any help is appreciated.

Believe they came from York or Lancaster County area of Pennsylvania.....but if you are famil ar with HOOVERs....they don't "volunteer" a lot of information.
