Four Corners  2002 CE; collage, 8 1/2 " x 11"
This was the index page from when the webpage was first conceived.
As in the case with all of the art, there are subtle symbols that reveal the story.
The most obvious being the New York skyline, the twin towers are seen to the right of the african american child. The NHA subdivision in Navajo,NM is also pretty obvious, at least to those who live in and around the rez. The young monkey on the lap of the soldier is trying to aim at a target that is outside of  the frame. Mercury's sceptor is made up of a "Bushmaster" pin that i found in a Soldier of Fortune mag, a slight comment on how American machismo is  "propagated", in that Mercury was a patron of communication; the Media/Popular Culture giant that is North America; Canada and Mexico included. The people  are generalized carictures of the  inhabitants of the 4 Corners area of the U.S. in which all the art and most of the music refer to, as it is our homeland. Their expressions are polaroids of the instant that everything is consumed; note how Utah is smiling, almost as if she's welcoming The End...I was gonna draw a swastika on her forehead ala charles manson as a joke, but it would only connotate the  negativity that already plagues the Mormon Church. The Pleiades Constellation is found at the left of the soldier's brain, a reference to the mystery that surrounds the "7  Sisters" and how it plays a role in most cultures, including ours.
As the Sun sets on America
Remember the forgettable quotes
once so proudly touted as the bastion of liberty,
the Totality of Tyranny,
the benign malignance of your State of Being
Remember those that have Fallen
and those that have yet to Fall
You've taken not your neighbour in vain
but the Tree that hath giveth your loins,
that which beareth fruits overwrought with guile
Remember also...
That the Gears don't run on fuel alone
