24th Annual
September 11th & 12th 2004
The West Virginia Honey Festival was formed to celebrate and educate the public on the importance of the Honey Bee and the goodness of Honey.
We provide many displays and demonstrations about Honey, Wax, and the Honey Bee to aid us in meeting our goal.
We provide: 1) Live Bee-beard and Live Hive demonstrations where the actions of the Honey Bee are discussed while a bee beard is placed on the face of the instructor. 2) Honey Extractions to show how honey is processed.  3) Candle Making to show the uses of Beeswax. 4) A Bee School to instruct those who are interested in beekeeping. 5) Cooking with honey demonstrations. 6) We also sell ice-cream Sundaes covered with honey and nuts.
We have a Honey and Wax show and a Honey Baking contest. After the entries are judged and  prizes awarded, the entries are auctioned to the highest bidder.
We provide booth spaces for Arts and Crafts. We also provide spaces for beekeepers to sell honey products and spots for food concessions.  We have lots of entertainment for the family throughout the festival.
