Psalm 131

Thank You God

Together, Forever
Mr. Zelasko
Just this past weekend, the current of a mighty river
Intentionally made many,
many, many lives bitter.
When the strength of two men just isn't enough,
When the flow is to fast, and rapids to tough,
Those two men can't help but to disappear
Into the river of everyone else's tears.
One of these men I just happen to know,
My mentor, teacher, and friend - Mr. Zelasko.
While I might not have been in his class all year,
His memory remains of when I was there.
I would drop by from time to time
Just to say a quick "hi", and then "good bye",
And I would hear stories from my previous classmates.
Besides, I wouldn't wish anyone to that horrible fate.
There are so many students here that don't understand
And even I don't know the extent of this great man.
I never expected to hurt as much as it does,
Now whenever we talk about him we have to say "was".
So I should rephrase myself and say he was a great man.
Unfortunately for everyone that's left, nature dealt him a bad hand.
Why is it that it's so hard to recognize
The worth of a man until he's not alive?
Now Dan Zelasko has moved on, has passed away.
Why did that river have to be so hungry on that Saturday?
Why did the river have to be so strong?
Why is his life ending like a sad country song?
Why, oh why did he have to go?
At least there is one thing I'll know...
I'm going to miss you - Mr. Zelasko.
