2007: Year of Miracles!

"There is nothing you need do but go to light!"

How many times have you heard your inner voice telling you to be at peace, that things will work out "as if by magic," that your only need is to turn your attention to God, which is the light of the world ... and, by the way, your own light?

Jesus, in his revelation for the 21st Century, A Course in Miracles, says it this way:

"Now you need but remember YOU NEED DO NOTHING. It would be FAR more profitable now merely to concentrate on this, than to consider what you SHOULD do.

"When peace comes at last to those who wrestle with temptation, and fight against giving in to sin; when the light comes at last into the mind given to contemplation, or when the goal is finally achieved by anyone, it ALWAYS comes with just ONE happy realization, – 'I need do nothing.' Here is the ultimate release that everyone will one day find in his own way, at his own time. We do not need this time.

"You are not making use of the course if you insist on using means that have served others well, neglecting what was made for YOU. Save time for me by only this one preparation, and practice doing NOTHING ELSE. 'I need do nothing' is a statement of allegiance, a truly undivided loyalty. Believe it for just one instant, and you will accomplish more than is given to a century of contemplation, or of struggle against temptation." (ACIM: Text ... unedited version)

Since doing something with the mind is an ego device used to try to compress and shrink infinite intelligence (and therefore perfect solutions) down into insignificant and ludicrous human attempts at solution, it follows that to do nothing with one's mind, to attempt to solve nothing or fix nothing, to simply allow the mind to remain disengaged is to allow the experience of enormous Divine Light ... which solves everything.

Listen to Jesus in ACIM attempting to break your habit of doing with the mind: "These thoughts do not mean anything." (Lesson 4) "My thoughts do not mean anything." (Lesson 10) "My thoughts are showing me a meaningless world." (Lesson 11) "I will step back and let Him lead the way." (Lesson 155) "Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still." (Lesson 221) Besides these, how many more ACIM lessons from Jesus are giving us basically the same message:

"There is nothing you need do but go to light!"

ACIM brothers at Endeavor Academy have long used this phrase "going to light" to refer to the experience of surrendering to perfect solutions. It might also be called "worshipping God," as differentiated from "worshipping one's own doings."

Strangely, one can hear some ACIM students claiming light sessions are "insufficient." They might say to a light brother something like: "You have plenty of light, but you don't have a methodology." When Guides and Teachers in heaven hear such statements they laugh. Because such words translate in their mind as: "You have all solutions, but you just don't have a means of asserting yourself to mess up and deteriorate your solutions."

What means would anyone like to adopt? Means like examining ego and therefore strengthening the illusion of ego since the mind makes "real" what it focuses on? Means like reading books written by half-baked teachers who are not fully enlightened, so the blind follows leadership of the blind? Means like watching videos which advocate using the mind to create worshipped earthly goodies, as if chasing after earthly goodies hasn't been the problem all along?

Or would you like to listen to your inner voice saying:

"There is nothing you need do but go to light!"

Even more strangely, one can observe students of ACIM Christianity expressing fear of Endeavor Academy and some even seemingly forgetting all the Course lessons mentioned above as they brand Endeavor a "cult." Angels in heaven hear such expressions of fear and branding as: "I don't want to really experience the light and really find perfect solutions!"

Yet despite the lingering "knowing not what they do" among some students of ACIM Christianity, light sessions continue to proliferate all over the map. Those who have outgrown their fear and judgmentalism are attending light sessions in more and more cities and helping each other open spiritually to greater miracles than human "working on the problem" could even imagine. It's as if the Holy Spirit's truth cannot be thwarted:

"There is nothing you need do but go to light!"

Or as Jesus suggests in ACIM: "Where darkness was I look upon the light." (Lesson 302)

Of course Jesus also said it two thousand years ago:

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid." (Matthew 5:14) "But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him." (John 11:10)

Which brings us to our new year: 2007.

What if you prayed a new kind of New Year's resolution? "I'm not going to worship so-called 'spiritual' methods. I'm not going to worship earthly idols like relationships or money or fantasized 'grass is greener' places or jobs or circumstances. I'm not going to worship unenlightened teachers or their books or even my own solution-hampering thinking processes. I am only going to worship God, which is to say worship the light ... and see what happens."

Maybe 2007 can be your year of really going to light and really allowing miracles. Maybe you can be truly helpful in bringing earth to light in the coming year, and 2007 will be a turning point in the history of bringing peace to earth because you have decided for the peace of doing nothing with your mind.

“I am a being of light...
and I live for no other reason...
than to serve the light.
If I do nothing...
but go to light...
and worship the light...
2007 becomes my year of heaven!"
