"It is easy to play a musical instrument: all you have to do
is touch the right key at the right time, and the
instrument will play itself."
--Johann Sebastien Bach

Well, what can I say??? I *love* playing piano!!! I have been playing piano for around eleven years. While I can play by ear, I much rather just play the classical music that I love. I also play a few Simon and Garfunkel songs. My favorite composer as you probably know by now is Sergei Rachmaninoff. I have many "second" favorites though, such as: Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Mahler and Prokofiev.

Two years ago, I finished playing my favorite piece of all time, Elegie in E Flat Minor by Rachmaninoff. It was like a dream come true when I finally got it down pat. I never thought it would turn out to be as hard as it was, it was definitely a huge challenge. The thing with Rachmaninoff is that he had HUGE hands. So for him to jump from one end of the piano to the other and have huge chords, was nothing. For the people playing his music, though, it is very difficult. I can't lose concentration for even one second when I play his music or else I will lose my fingering.

Recently, I began messing around and playing some old Carlebach niggunim. They're fun to play, because they aren't too complicated, so it's relaxing. Mostly, I just like messing around with different chords and seeing what comes out from there.
