MY PRECIOUS LIL BABY

Ashley Nicole McArdle

May 22nd,2001 thru June 5th,2001

My Name is Ashley Nicole McArdle (Brown).  Ashley  was born on May 22nd, 2001 @ 12:30 am.  She weighed 5 lbs 15 ozs and was 20 Inches long.  Ashley had a full head of jet black hair and it was beautiful.  Ashley looked just like my father Frankie. Mom was glad that she was finally here after all these months.  :).

On May 22nd, 2001, Lil Ashley had to be transported to AI DuPonts Childrens Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.  Ashley was there for a short time and the Drs found out she was a "Very very sick little girl" and was suffering from a heart defect called "Transposition of the Great Vessels" and had a hole in between the two chambers of the heart.  This defect was very life threaten and could very well die if it was untreated for very long.  On May 25th, Ashley had undergone her first open heart surgury preformed by Dr Norwood. Ashley was a brave lil girl and fought very hard to be able to stay here with me and her daddy and brothers and sisters. As the days went on, we kept having more and more hope and prayed more and more for lil Ashley to recover soon.  Lil Ashley had to undergo a second operation on May 26th for something else.  As the days got longer, the drs seemed to be preparing me and my mother for the worse outcome because Ashley was not getting no better, only worse by the day.  Each day they tried to take her off the heart lung machine and had to put her back on it, her heart just did not want to work at all.  One morning on June 5th,  the dr came into my room and told me that there was no hope at all for Lil Ashley unless there was a total mircale for her now.  They were telling me that my baby was going to die unless GOD helped us and gave her the will to fight for being here with me and her father and brothers and sisters.  Well,  as they left the room, all I could do was pray and hope that there was a mircle in that room as the drs were taking Lil Ashley off that machine.  A short time later, the social worker came into the room and just put her head down and said that my Precious Lil Ashley did not make it but maybe 1 min off that heart lung machine.  Ashley was ready to go back to her maker and get her wings and be in no more pain and live a happy life without me.  :(,  but now she can watch over me forever.

This is me:  Holly  (Ashleys Mother) and my boyfriend Shawn.  Shawn was going to raise Ashley as if she was his own baby daughter.    :)  :)  :)  :)

Ashley also had  2 brothers and 2 sisters.  Brothers: David 11 years old, Tyler 1 year old and 2 sisters: Noel 5 years old and Missy 9 years old. On June 8th, Ashley was laid to rest on Odd Fellows Cemetary in Seaford DE at a graveside service, about a mile from my house.  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)
