Todd Rundgren
Popmeister Rundgren has spent the last decade turning away from traditional songs and toward an advocacy of new technologies. In 1993, Rundgren recorded the first interactive CD, New World Order, and also changed his name to TR-I (it stands for Todd Rundgren Interactive) to reflect his interest in the new medium. Earlier this year, Rundgren used his official Web site to offer his fans subscriptions to his artistry. Rundgren's innovation hardly seems to be slowing-this year, he founded the online collective Waking Dreams and PatroNet, which helps artists distribute their own music.
