Are Post World War II Subdivisions Worth Preserving?

More than 60 years have passed since the end of World War II. Millions of houses are now eligible for the National Register. Are these generic Post World War II subdivisions worth preserving? Are suburban ranch style houses worthy of protection? What do these houses tell us about changes in American society?
This website contains a paper in support of preserving certain Post World War II subdivisions, as well as the National Register Bulletin on Suburban Development. This website provides educational resources and suggested readings for Post WWII history and architecture. It also includes photographs of Post World War II houses in Tempe, Arizona and a graph showing the town's growth from 1940 to 1960.
