After spending three years in Hawaii studying American teaching techniques, Principal Kuno returned to Furikan High School to begin where he left off - tormenting the student body with ridiculous rules. His first act was to require every boy to get a 'buzz cut' hair cut and all the girls to get a 'bowl-cut'. Needless to say, the student body was not amused. He gave them an out, stating that a pardon from the rules was hidden somewhere at the school. The result was total anarchy as the students desperately searched for it only to encounter a series of devious tricks and traps set up by Principal Kuno to stop them. Ranma of course saves the day by retrieving the pardon and Principal Kuno is forced to backstep on the rule.

After spending so may years in Hawaii, Principal Kuno has gone completely native and only dresses in loud Hawaiian shirts and speaks in a Hawaiian dialect. As well as being obsessed with things Hawaiian, he is completely insane. His main obsession is cutting off Ranma's pigtail and is constantly developing devioous tricks to get it.
