This Page is all about myself, and my three month long trip I took in 1999 with Hiram College. The Trip
was truly the experience of a lifetime!
In January 2006, I began a blog called "Buckeye State" Check it out for even more recent updates about myself, and what I think are unique observations about the world around us.
Who Is Tom Arbour?
Hi! This can somtimes be a hard question to answer! I am a graduate of Hiram College, in Hiram Ohio, Magna Cum Laude, Departmental Honors in Environmental Studies.
I have always been interested in plants, animals, the environment, and the natural
world, so environmental studies at Hiram was a perfect match for me. After Hiram, I attended Miami University completing a Master Of Environmental Science professional degree program in December 2005. I concentrated my studies in applied ecology and resource analysis. I am currently an Ecologist and GIS analyst with the Ohio Natural Heritage Program of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Natural Areas and Preserves . Formerly, I was a graduate assistant at Miami University, and I was responsible for the upkeep of the Institute's web page and computer lab. During my undergraduate years, I interned with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Natural Areas and Preserves. I worked in the northeast field office, and I assisted the preserve manager with invasive species control, endangered and threatened species management, trail and facilities maintenance, and I led interpretive nature hikes.

To say that I have a wide variety of interests would be an understatement.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the natural areas of Ohio.
I enjoy outdoor photography and hiking. I play the piano, guitar, and trombone, and I am true Cleveland sports fan, as I support the Cavs, Indians, and Browns.
