A Gavin Americana Reporting Station I reckon
Born in Eastern Kemtucky, I am a one-time coal miner and 8th-generation hillbilly. I am currently employed as a Software Developer in Atlanta.

Although I now live far from those old hills of home, I still carry fond memories of growing up in an area that offered a young boy so much room to explore and such a rich culture to draw from.

Atlanta has been my home since 1980.  I fell in love with the city on my first trip through in 1975.

I began writing about music in 1998. I have done in excess of 100 pieces for INK19 Magazine based in Melbourne, FL since. I have done a few other pieces here and there, but INK19 continues to be my primary outlet. If you would like to send something for possible review, email me through link below. Please include a brief description of the type of music and any website links. If it's something that I might like, I'll send you my address. I don't do Napster.

My focus is Americana Music, although I love many types. Over the years many bands have endeared themselves to me. A few of my long-time favorites would include Little Feat, Los Lobos, The Band, Fred Eaglesmith, John Prine, Cassandra Wilson, Merle Travis, Doc Watson, The Beatles, Emmylou Harris, Webb Wilder, The Goosecreek Symphony, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, and many many more.

I am also interested in geneology and Appalachian History.
