This is the Hand Car that Lionel^â Trains, Inc. issued in 1987 as an exact replica of the original Lionel^â post-war Hand Car marketed by the original Lionel^â Corporation in the late 1960s just a few years before Lionel^â Corp. sold the company to General Mills Corporation. The side panel on the box reads: "The Lionel^â Hand Car is back! After 20 years, everyone's favorite novelty car is back on the rails. Modern materials and a more efficient drive system make it better than ever. The car's operators pump vigorously, propelling the car along the track.
These Lionel^â Operating Hand Cars are mint, each packaged in its original box--they were recently re-discovered in our massive warehouse archives. The Operating Hand Car operates equally well on "O" and "O27" track, regardless of the track manufacturer (e.g. Lionel^â, K-Line^â , Atlas^â, Gargraves^â, etc.).
