Success-driven high school senior Leigh Ann Prescott (Katie Holmes) has earned the kind of grades that can send her to the Ivy League. She is on track to be class valedictorian until her brainy rival Mary Beth (Liz Stauber) tricks her into a failing grade in history, a class taught by the tough Mrs. Tingle (Helen Mirren). With fears of shattered college dreams propelling her, Leigh Ann sees only one way out of her predicament: to stop Mrs. Tingle from turning in that failing grade by any means necessary.
