44% of 2002 graduating seniors met "a- g" college entrance requirements
98% participation and pass rate for senior exit project-class of 2002
Advanced Placement achievements:
56% increase in exams taken between 1998 and 2002
30% increase in number of students testing between 1998 and 2002
67% overall pass rate in 2002 (highest in district)
Golden State Exams - 318 students received high honors, honors or recognition
Percent of D s and F s decreased by 3% from fall 2001 to spring 2002
Creation of new laptop computer lab
Addition of two laptop mobile carts for classroom use
Implementation of 9^th Grade Academy opportunity program to accommodate incoming underachieving 9th graders
Fully implemented math vertical teaming between Hilltop High and Hilltop Middle
Creation of Hilltop High chapter of "Dollars for Scholars"

Completed first annual "Academic" Hall of Fame with recognition of five graduates
Repainted entire school exterior; planted sod in all grass areas; installed new irrigation and landscaping of front banks adding new stairs with safety rails
Expanded English Language Development class offerings
School Site Council allocated up to $30,000 in school improvements
Added CAHSEE support classes in spring schedule
Decrease in number of suspensions from previous year by 50% with no expulsions
