Youngster sonny-bill was first known for his "we play dirrty" shirt that was worn to police station for the coffs harbour investigation. That was the case, until he made his first-grade debut in round 1 against parramatta where, williams,19, set up two tries and also scored one of his own in a powerhouse match which resulted in 48 - 14 Bulldogs WIN. After just a few first grade games, Sonny-bill was selected for the KIWI international at the age of 18 for the ANZAC test in April.

However, Williams stunning season appeared to be over before it could really take off when he was let down by a serious ankle injury in round seven, against the rabbitohs. After recieving so much attention, williams had to sit on the sidelines for a couple of months until the time came for his return.

"It was pretty bad, especially after playing the test alongside blokes like Nigel Vagana, Tony Poletua, Boys like that" Williams said. But after a long 3 months of hard work...williams was ready to make his return. In the awesome Clash with the bulldogs going head to head with the panthers in RD 21...williams knew he was ready, Coming off the bench late in the first half, with his first touch he regathered sherwins kick to send the no.7 over the line. By fulltime he had made 68 metres as well as 10 tackles, three offloads and seven hit-ups.

After making his first grade debut right up until now, Sonny-bill is on a media Ban and Has only talked about his achievements a few times this Year...As the bulldogs are trying to protect him from media exposure.

Sonny-bill williams, Tipped by laurie dayley as "probably the best football player newzealand has ever produced" is now what he wasnt known for at the beginning of the season...one of the best young talents and future superstar in the NRL. We can expect great things from this kid.
