I know that I sound way too melodramatic, but I can't help it, Francesca. Your absence has brought out a lot in me that I never knew I had. I'm so happy that you're returning home today, I'm ashamed of it. I can't wait, dearest. You know that today is the Miss Midway Contest. I know that you'll win, Francesca, I just know it. I was talking to my old English professor Mr. Everrman about how much I missed you, and he told me that writing myself out in letters would do it best. I didn't think it would work at first, Francesca, but it actually has. Mr. Everrman always has been and always will be the wisest man I know, Francesca.
I was disheartened to learn in your past letter that soon after you come home, you'll be travelling to Ridgeland to visit relatives. I'm not very happy about it, to put it simply, but I know that you must. Ah, how the letters will roll then.
