1.1 gathering of rubber tree leaves. fresh and healthy rubber tree leaves are gathered. the leaflet has an area about 3 x 6 inches. incase of smaller size, it can be processed into a single piece of product only. but if various sizes of leaves are composed, all kind of products can be made.
1.2 boiling leaves in an alkaline solution. prepare an alkaline solution by dissolving two bars of soap in 20litres of water. boiling 2 kg. of fresh rubber tree leaves in the solution 90 - 120 minutes. by that time, all leaves skin and cellulose have become softened.
1.3 scraping off skin and cellulose. all the leaves skin and cellulose will be brushed off until only a leaf-vein skeleton exists. wash the leaf-vein skeleton and dry in the sun, which will take 2 hr. to dry completely. the dry leaf-vein skeleton will turn brown which sometimes are consider for process into any products that need real nature feeling.
2.dyeing of leaf-vein skeleton. the leaf-vein skeleton is whitewashed by detergent then washed again and dried. the pale clean leaf-vein skeleton in now ready for dyeing.
3.creating of flowers and other products. the creation of flower from leaf-vein skeleton of rubber is a technique plus personal experience. spraying technique play an important rule to make a better look. besides that, the color of flowers and products will last long up to 3 years in the shade.
