Heroines and Heroes
navbarMESSAGE BOARDHOMEEMAIL
The other day, I pulled up next to a Fire Engine at a freeway exit. My four-year-old son, Jonathan, smiled and waved at the men inside, and all four men joyfully waved back. With thoughts of Tuesday's tragedy fresh in my mind, in which hundreds of firemen were killed trying to rescue people in New York, and countless others continue to work around the clock, with a catch in my throat I turned to my son and said, "Those are true heroes, Jonathan. They save people's lives."

I would like to dedicate this site to all of those heroines and heroes out there who have joined together as one to do what they could to help in the wake of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., from volunteering in person, to giving blood and funding to the Red Cross, to simply sharing their prayers for the families who have lost or are missing loved ones. God Bless America and God Bless You. -- Lorraine, 09/16/2001

This website is about individuals who strive to make a difference in others' lives, and along the way learn something more about themselves. There are many definitions of heroines/heroes, but what each of these people have in common is their indomitable spirit. Please feel free to share your own ideas of who/what a heroine/hero is to you.
