Notes In Colours

Notes In Colours is almost a no-name brand version of Whoopy Kat's The Completer. It features a number of the same tracks, plus some more from the Sotheby tapes, and a few originals. A number of the tracks on the second CD, the Axis outtakes from the Sotheby material, play very fast, I'm not sure if that's how the source tape was or not. A number of bootlegs of this material show the same chipmunk effects. One note about this set...it features a track called The Queen, supposedly a studio version of Jimi doing the British national anthem. In fact, this is *not* Jimi, but a guitarist by the name of David Henderson. At some point in the past, a demo tape he made up for a record company managed to mistakenly get mixed in with the Hendrix tape vault. This track shows up on a number of Hendrix boots, but rest assured, it is not Jimi. One listen to the track and any Hendrix fan would be able to tell it's not.

Quality is quite good for the most part, though the duplicate material may make this a expensive disc set to pick up just for the few "new" tracks. But if you can't find Whoopy Kat's The Completer, or a CD with the Sotheby material on it, then I say pick this one up for your collection.
* Note: Does not feature Jimi Hendrix at all
