How to do :
Pressing up/down arrows is very inconvenient way to modify a
code ordering. It is a better way and actually -unlike using up/down arrows-
you can specify the code ordering number
I though that
this is widely known but having read some threads about modifying code ordering
I think that I was wrong.
Well, it is quite simple: Go to Presentation/Forms/Codes. Find
the code that you to what you want to modify the ordering there. If a form for
this code doesn't exist, create one. If exist open to modify. From the
Attributes drag and drop ordering. Save and close.
Now each time you want to modify the code (either to add new
values or made rearrangements) you will see that the ordering is presented as a
number! You can set to any value you want :)
Of course this works only for ordered codes. Hierarchical codes doesn't have ordering.
However you can present "Children". Just
create/modify the form and from the attributes drag "Children".
However you cannot add using the "Add" button of the children panel.
There is a bug, if you add a child by pressing "add" button though it
is listed in the panel it will be listed only there! Yeap,
the newly added this way code it won't be listed in any code views. Weird huh?
Anyone care to create a bug report? I'm on leave this time
(unfortunately for medical reasons) and since I'll be out of the work for the
next two weeks I couldn't at the limited time I can sit in front of a computer
to monitor a case.
