Anyone BUT Chris Cannon for Congress!

This is the homepage of the anti-Chris Cannon Campaign. Chris Cannon, in case any of you don't know, is the Representative from Utah's third congressional district, a Republican, and a good argument against democracy.

Democracy is a fine institution, don't get me wrong. But even Plato didn't think it was a good idea, because Plato saw Chris Cannon coming. Read The Republic and see if I'm not right.

Democracy works only because in general the good choices will outweigh the bad choices. Sort of like mob rule in reverse. Chris Cannon is one of the bad choices, and these pages are devoted to showing everyone why he should not be re-elected. The fact that this year - 1998 - he is apparently going to run unopposed doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't be running at all.

If you are not from Utah, why should you care?

Because you just want a good laugh? Find out how Utah got into this predicament, and maybe learn something from our mistakes. You might even enjoy finding out about Chris Cannon's not so illustrious first term in office.

Because Chris Cannon is going to Congress? He and other know-nothing pseudo-Conservatives are there to dilute the votes from people who actually use independent thought to vote their convictions. It is not a pretty picture!

If you're not even from the USA, you might take some solace from the fact that democracy does have its drawbacks. The USA may be the most powerful nation in the world at the moment, but, for better or for worse, we are just as human as you are. (So maybe you should be a lot more worried!)
