We can see that they were there as early as late October, 1892, and that they stayed through the summer, at least until Sept. 6, 1893.

Mary was the record keeper for the family bacause alreay, in his 50's, JM was going blind. There were often skips of months and years between entries.

She may have kept more regular records somewhere else, but these are the only ones that survived. My brother, Bob, pulled this ledger out of a fireplace where a lot of their records were being burned when the George McCutchen's moved from the Yacolt house.
