EGM

The EGM was held at the Junction at 7.15pm 10th June.

Subs Paid, all teams represented.

The meeting was open for all registered players to attend to hear a proposal to merge the Heckmondwike and Tetley leagues, not all registered players attended.

It was explained that the new league would be made up of one division containing 20 teams, that it 10 from each league, no new teams would be allowed to join for the first year.

The committee would be Tetley League Officers with Heckmondwike Officers being in the Vice Capacity.

If 26 teams joined then 2 divisions could be considered.

It was explained that the memorial competitions would remain and finals would be held as they are now.

All competitions to be played at end of season.

There would be minor changes to playing format.

Financing would be £8.00 per team per week

The new league would be called Heckmondwike & Heavy Woollen Invitation League.

There were various questions put forward, however the main stumbling block was the proposed length of the season, i.e. 38 weeks playing + 5 bank holidays + competitions made the season 1 year long.

A suggestion was put forward from the floor to play 2 divisions from the start with 10 in each, it was suggested that more teams would then join, including those waiting to join Heckmondwike now.

The vote was as follows

Merge leagues one division with a maximum of 20 teams 10 votes

Merge leagues two divisions starting with 10 in teams in each 13 votes (carried)

The meeting then ended in an abrupt manor with The Scotland accused of voting in mass to take over, this was not the case as the registered players had attended as requested.
