Welcome to the HECK website.  H.E.C.K. stands for Holiday East Collectors Klub, a group of people that collect Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments.  We are sponsored by Joanne's Hallmark, located in Holiday Park as part of Hallmark's Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club with over 2000 clubs nationwide. We meet six times a year for club meetings at the Holiday Park United Methodist Church and publish a bi-monthly newsletter, the Evergreen Gazette.  Our membership roster includes over 90 active members.
Our bi-monthly meetings are friendly and informal gatherings that include the conducting of club business, social interaction, presentations on Hallmark collectibles, the latest news and information from Hallmark, snacks and refreshments as well as buy, swap, and selling sessions on retired ornaments.  Our club emblem is the 1996 Special Edition Ornament titled the Evergreen Santa, which adorns our club shirts as well as the logo on our newsletter the Evergreen Gazette, published on green paper.
Our focus is on the collecting of Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments but we also have a community consciousness as well.  Each year we decide on a community service project which benefits a local charity or group providing humanitarian assistance.  In the past we have raised funds for the American Diabetes Association Children's Summer Camp Program, The Children's Institue of Pittsburgh, a local battered women's shelter, a senior care home in Murrysville,  the Plum Food Pantry, Three Rivers Hospice, and Cerebral Palsy.  We raise funds for these projects by selling raffle tickets at our sponsor's Hallmark store for a basket of collectible items and other products donated by Joanne's Hallmark.  We have also donated a tree with Hallmark ornaments to Eastern Area Adult Services.  For 2005 we raised money to benefit Cystic Fibrosis.  Later this summer we will be collecting items for the Plum Food Pantry.

In 2006 we raised funds to benefit the Mario Lemieux Foundation for cancer research in memory of HECK Member Ed Gilarski.

Throughout the year, the club's focus is on the outward symbols of Christmas, the Keepsake Ornaments which we love to collect and display.  Our community service project gives us the opportunity to demonstrate in a positive way the real meaning of Christmas: peace on earth, goodwill toward men.
