Australia's only native dog, the dingo was probably brought into Australia
a few thousand years ago by Polynesians.
Basic Facts:
Dingos are widespread around mainland Australia, often posing a threat to
livestock. In desert regions, they feed mostly on rabbits mice and rats, and
in southern regions wallabies and kangaroos. Both eat soft fruit and
vegetables. The main difference between dingos and domestic dogs, is that
female dingos only come into season once, instead of twice.
