"I See"

I see a mist in the brisk air when I speak.
Autumns foliage on the paths by the creek.
I see the winds blowing in from the north,
as I sit bundled up on my front porch.

I see the sparrow scurrying to build its nest,
preparing for a long winters bliss.
Squirrels storing their feast in nearby crannies,
savoring all the nuts and even blackberries.

I see Old Jack Frost with the morning dew,
watch the days turn to dark too soon.
The flowers, all wilted, dormant in their beds,
awaiting spring, to make their new spreads.

I see glistening stars on an autumns night.
Moon beams shooting rays so bright.
Trees that dance with autumns winds,
across the hills and around the bends.

I see golden leaves descend from high,
a picture of autumns angles into the nigh.
Orange, brown, red and even yellow.
What's here today will be gone tomorrow.

I see another season has come and gone
and with it brings a new days dawn.
The snow will soon begin to fall
and once again, I'll be enthralled.
