BACKGROUND
The Heartbreak Cafe began in the spring of 1997 as the concept of Robert Michael Conrad to bring to students a class that closely reflected a true Hollywood TV production.
Starting with one cable station, it is now an established episodic cable TV show throughout southern California. The show uses students as its acting and technical base and is considered a “light drama”.
Every aspect of TV production was incorporated into the show from acting, camerawork, sound, lighting, writing, directing, as well as pre and post-production. The idea was to prepare the student for work as soon as they stepped out the door.
Recently, we have branched out to include the production of short independent films. Now, students experience location filming as well as studio production. |
