Meditation 6

“That they may know the mystery of God: Christ,
in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.”
Colossians 2:2b,3

Our Creator has created us with a mind that yearns to learn; to know more, to see why, and to even see things invisible.
Some pursue the quest for knowledge and wisdom much further than others.
Some have been gifted with a keener mind,
and some with much greater opportunities to learn than others will ever have.

But the Maker of us all remains Sovereign over all his creatures, and gives wisdom and knowledge of Himself to whomever He pleases.
The words of Jesus are very sweet, hear him: read Luke 10:21-24

The words from Colossians show the Lord’s willingness, for the mystery of Himself to be known through Christ.
If anyone will come to know God, they will come to know Him through Christ.
Paul wrote all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ.

These words are like an authentic map of buried treasure.
They tell all who have ears to hear
that the treasures of the mystery of God are hidden in Christ,
God’s anointed King.
The gospels and the epistles provide many word pictures of him.
As we begin to look at him through these,
we begin to see truths that never occurred to us before.

As we continue to consider him,
we discover we are learning more with less effort of our own.
We can actually perceive that and come to understand that we are being
led in our search. (Romans 8:14)

Before we eat the bread, let’s consider one of the treasures of wisdom
hidden in Christ Jesus.
Our life, is actually hidden with Christ in God. read Colossians 3:1-4
we are hidden in him.

Father   we praise You for providing for our minds a vast treasure of truth
that endures forever.
we praise You for forgiving us our sins,
and being patient to show us even more of our sin than we have seen.
as we learn, cause us to remember that we may twist knowing You
to swell with pride.
keep us from that sin that destroys the likeness of Jesus.

Another treasure of wisdom that reveals the mystery of God is:
“though our outward man is decaying, our inward man is renewed day by day.”
2 Corinthians 4:16

We have all seen older believers whose eyes sparkle with joy and love.
That life is His life in them.
First our life is hid in him, then his life begins to shine through ours.

How can this be? The one who was dead is alive for evermore.
He has the power to do anything!
His indwelling Spirit restores God’s image in ours.
Today, whosoever will may surrender to him, and receive the Eternal Life.

The fruit of the vine represents the life-blood of the only sinless man—
shed because of our transgressions, to give us his life

read Titus 3:1-7

Father cause us to see every time we are deceived by our self-righteousness.
Lead us to always confess our sins to You and to each other.
All the treasures You have for us are hidden in Jesus.
We need his life now.
