Meditation 2

“But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
thru which the world has been crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” - Galatians 6: 14

These words of Paul reveal the place the cross of Christ had in his mind.
The death of Jesus upon the cross caused Paul to see everything differently.
There was nothing left that Paul could boast of, because he saw,
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.”

Jesus’ death in our place means there is no room for any pride at all.
The death of Jesus in his place, possessed Paul’s heart.
Either we come to experience this in some measure, or we do not.

There is no other message that will change our ambitions, change us.
Either our mind is humbled by this truth, or we remain forever self-centered.
Only the word of the cross begets a boasting in Jesus, and a crucifixion of self.

The bread brings to our mind his body, in which he daily did, his Father’s will.
No other life, has ever pleased God at every turn.
We are offered this bread, that we may take into ourselves, the only God-pleasing life ever lived.
It is literally, the bread of life. Jesus is our only source of God.

Father, Forgive us of our sins for Jesus’ sake. Please fill our hearts with your Spirit.
Lead us to see as Paul, the death of Jesus, and be emptied of ourselves.
Lead us to eat this bread, as his flesh that pleased You, believing we share his Life again..

* * * *

Paul saw the death of the only sinless man was the covering  for his life.
The nakedness of his flesh, was covered by Jesus’ life-blood.
To be sprinkled with Jesus’ blood, - is to be purified and perfected forever.

His cross perceived, also crucifies each of us unto the world.
To see the meek and lowly in heart, suffering death because of my sin,
puts to death our desire to share in the sins of the world.
We are called to embrace him, the One who Suffered. May we not shrink back.

Seeing Jesus crucified because of my sins, can regenerate anyone -- right now.
When the Spirit of God convicts us of our sin, Jesus’ life begins in our heart.
It is the birth from Above. It leads us into the water, and we emerge receiving his Spirit,
to burn as fire within us, consuming our flesh, refining his image.

The blood of his death, is the fountain of life.
When we drink the blood, we drink the life that is Eternal.
He is Risen. He will Return.
Only those hidden in Him, will survive the Wrath to come.

Father, we desire to drink his Life again.
