Any who wish may then respond to my comments as they are added to the site. Of course, commentary is not limited to this as will be make clear below.
Plus, there will be a section on lead commentary, whether mine or from others, about current events which are soon to once again fill the airways and printed page with political party game playing. It will, as you know, soon be time for the next presidential primaries which will give us much fodder to think and write about.
This section will be made up by those of you think who care enough to take the time to gather facts, analyze them, and put them to print. It will not be a forum-type which usually gets filled with a lot of psuedo intellectuals spouting garbage (the type of idiots most of us, including me, can't stand.) who focus not on problems but focus instead on the people who have voiced their opinions. These 'idiots' use phrases such as 'scum bag', 'dumb ass', 'sleazy scumball', and many others they seem to be quite proud of.
Rancor of this nature towards other writers simply
tells me their opinions are worthless!!
Or, they will try to impress the reader with words that
most of us never use or may have never even heard of. Generally, we use about 1200
words out of the 600,000-plus in the English language. Thus, simple,
concise, and direct are
best.
Nothing will be considered that is not supported by
facts. We get enough of that from politicians and media personnel; we don't need it from us
ordinary people as it hinders those who are trying to understand what is going on,
politically, socially, legally, and in the justice system.
The clause I used seemed to mean the maximum penalty allowed by the Senate is 'removal
from office' while the clause I missed stated the penalty as "shall be removed" if found
guilty.
At this time, I don't know what our forefathers intended so I am studying the Federalists
Papers in an effort to find out. (Check out the papers at the site listed below in Favorite
Informative Sites.)
Accuracy cannot be stressed enough. Recently, I made a mistake
that nearly caused me to quit writing for publication. I used a quote from the Constitution
not knowing there was a second clause pertaining to the same issue, impeachment.
I like getting the opinions of everyday working people who are struggling, just as I am, to survive in a world turned nearly topsy turvy by uncaring politicians and other world leaders who are too often misrepresented by the media.
SINCE EVERYTHING THING THAT
GOES ON IN THIS NATION IS RELATED IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER TO
GOVERNMENT, TOPICS OF INTEREST ALSO INCLUDE EDUCATION, LAW
ENFORCEMENT, JUSTICE, AND GENERAL REFLECTIONS ON
SOCIETY.
I would like for this to be a site OF THE PEOPLE visited for accurate news and thought-provoking commentary without the
normal political-socialogical-financial biasing we are so often subjected to.
To reiterate, I would like to develop it into a site which people can visit to find out what
others from different parts of the country, of the world, and all walks of life think about
situations AND issues. Allowing hatred and personalities to enter in
would not serve any useful purpose in meeting this end.
Since the networks and newspapers, including some online journals, seem to be as out of
control as our Congress is, it is likely the people will have to force accurate, fair, unbiased
reporting by refusing to read biased publications or refusing to watch newscasts filled with
biased reporting.
At times, biased news reporting approaches the subliminal as it is often done in an
extremely subtle fashion by what is left out, by commentators' facial expressions or
phrasing, and, of course, by being presented from one side only or out of context. Then, of
course, there are out-on-out false statements made but that is another story entirely.
And remember, this is our country no matter what members
of the Congress of the United States think.
IF YOU HAVE EVER HAD THE DESIRE TO SEE YOUR
THOUGHTS PUBLISHED, THIS MAY BE YOUR CHANCE. DO YOUR BEST TO
STATE YOUR THOUGHTS CLEARLY AND CONCISELY AND I WILL DO MY BEST
TO USE YOUR ESSAYS IN PART, IF NOT IN FULL, AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.
The only guidelines I have (other than those above) are the absence of profanity, no
hate-type commentary which usually ends up as gibberish without a concrete basis, and
absolutely no sexist, racist, or other commentary based on fanaticism as we are all in this
together. Due to space available, length should not exceed 750 words except in rare cases.
In order to be certain I am clear, any commentary directed at another
writer's mental abilities or character, e.g., "Boy, how stupid can a
person be...", will result in any future submissions being Deleted without consideration
as coming from an intelligent person.
Once again, we have enough biased reporting going on. It fills our airways (thanks to
major networks political affiliations), it fills our printed media (thanks to publishers'
and/or editors' personal biases). It must be stopped as it should have been decades ago by either the networks or
printed media controlling their own or their reporters' biases OR by public communication
laws.
Whoops! One more guideline - due to my knowing
only English as a language, commentary must be in English.
One of the below publications, for example, is extremely biased, or has been, all through
the Clinton ordeal that was forced upon us. You can determine which
one for yourself as it may be I am just biased against it for its editors' one-sided,
politically-biased reporting.
