Shoemaker- Edith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hasenpflug, was born in Woolwich Twp., Ont., June 16, 1902; died at Fergus, Ont., Mar 27, 1979; aged 76 y. On June 29, 1920, she was married to Wesley Shoemaker, who died on Mar. 27, 1972. Surviving are one daughter (Elma-Mrs. Ervin Musselman), 3 sons (Wilfred, Herbert, and Milton), 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters. She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Mar. 29, in charge of Gerry Vanderworp and Simeon Hurst; interment in Bethel Mennonite Cemetery.HASENPFLUG, William Edward

-- St. Jacobs -- William Edward Hasenpflug, 59 of St. Jocobs, died at his residence today after a lengthy illness.
    Born is West Montrose February 16, 1907, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hasenpflug. He was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Caley; two sons, Orvil of RR 2 Petersburg, and Edward of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Wilbert (Esther) Temple, Kitchener and Mrs. Menno D. (Laurel) Martin, Conestogo; one brother, George Hasenpflug, Windsor; four sisters, Mrs. Wesley Shoemaker and Mrs. M. C. Totzke, both of Elmira, Mrs. Hardy Goodwin of Heidelberg, and Mrs. Pearl Poutler, Kitchener; his stepmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Hasenpflug, Hamilton, and 19 grandchildren. He is predeceased by one brother, Arnold Hasenpflug.
    The body will be at the family residence from Thursday morning until Saturday at noon when removal will be made to St. James' Church for the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the St. James' cemetery with Rev. Harold Brill officiating.
    Donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the St. James' Lutheran Church Building Fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Kevin, Geoffrey and his wife Debbie and Gregory Barker and Jennifer, Heather and Rebecca Goodwin; brother of Harold and Fred, both of Waterloo, Irene (Mrs. Clayton Musselman) of Baden, Dorothy (Mrs. Fredrick Schmidt) of London, Ont. and Murray of Conestogo.
    Predeceased by his parents, Hardy and Mabel (nee Hasenpflug) Goodwin; one daughter, Alice; two brothers, Wayne and Robert and one sister, Alice.
    Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where the family will recieve their friends on Thursday, 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. At noon on Friday, transfer will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, for funeral service at 2p.m., with Rev. Olaf J. Poulsen officiating, followed by interment at St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.

    Son of the late Hardie and Mabel (nee Hasenpflug) Goodwin, brother of Floyd of Bamburg, Fred and Harold, both of Waterloo, Murray of Conestogo, Irene (Mrs. Clayton Musselman) of Baden and Dorothy (Mrs. Fred Schmidt) of London, Ont. Predeceased by one brother, Robert and one sister, Alice.
    The family will recive their friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Monday), 7-9p.m. At noon on Tuesday, removal will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, for funeral service at 2p.m. Interment St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.

-- Peacefully went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, March 14, 2005, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus. Ervin G. Musselman, in his 88th year, of RR2, Ariss.
    Loving husband of Elma (Shoemaker) Musselman for 61 years.
    Loving father of Murray and Sally Musselman of Gowanstown, Ruth Ann and George Bauman of Hanover, Robert and Debbie Musselman of Ariss, Kenneth and Elizabeth Musselman of Elora, Douglas and Pauline Musselman of Kitchener, Morris and Gail Musselman of Arris, Marlene and Phares Martin of Elora, Richard and Barb Musselman of Elora. Fondly remembered by his 24 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Brother of Viola and Paul Fretz, Loren and Esther Musselman and brother-in-law of Arnold Meyers.
    Predeceased by his his parents, Israel and Adeline (Gingrich) Musselman, two brothers, Amos and Norman and two sisters, Eileen (Munroe) Jutzi and Ruby Meyers.
    Ervin was a charter member of the Bethel Mennonite Church and owneed and operated Musselman Feed and Supply as well as operating the family farm in Inverhaugh. Erivn served the community on various boards and committees for many years.
    The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation at Bethel Mennonite Church, RR1, Elora (6772, Eighth Line West) on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. A family committal service will be held at the Bethel Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church, Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Steve Brnjas officiating.
    In his memory, donations to the House of Friendship or Bethel Mennonite Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.

MUSSELMAN, Irene G. (nee Goodwin) 1927-2004

-- Went on to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Saturday, August 7, 2004, after a lengthy illness at the age of 77 years.
    Besides her loving husband, Clayton of 60 years, Irene will be forever remembered by her children, Pat and her husband Ron, Gerald, Roger and his wife Anne, Connie and her husband Reinhold, Dean and his wife Carol as well as her 12 beloved grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Irene is also survived by one sister, Dorothy and her husband Fred.
    Irene was predeceased by her parents, five brothers and one sister. Irene was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and most recently Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly. She was employed with J.M. Schneiders, Kitchener for many years.
    Friends are invited to share their memories of Irene with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, today (Tuesday, August 10, 2004) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Irene's life and faith will be held at the Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly, 395 King Street North, Waterloo on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 1 p.m. with the Rev.     Mrs. Pautler was a former superintendent of 100 Queen St. N., Kitchener for 15 years and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kitchener.
    Dear wife of Clifford of Kitchener; mother of Wayne and his wife Christine of Brampton; sister of John Forler of Kitchener, Pearl and her husband Art Wagner, Irene Forler all of Waterloo and Inez Forler of Kitchener.

CRESSMAN, Dorothy (nee Heer)

-- Beloved mother and grandmother, passed away, at Heritage Place Nursing Home, Virgil, on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the age of 85 years.
    Born in Waterloo, August 18, 1920, Dorothy was the youngest in the family of seven children belonging to George and Augusta Heer. She married Joseph Cressman June 14, 1941 and spent 10 years of her married life working in the KW area, before the family moved to Oakville in 1962. She spent the next 13 years working for the Ford Motor Company, Oakville and retired in 1974. Dorothy was a member of Port Nelson United Church, Burlington and especially enjoyed her involvement with the choir.
    She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe, April 7, 1993. Loving mother to Doug of Winnipeg and Bruce of Virgil and proud grandmother of Stephanie of Toronto and Scott of Vancouver.
    Cremation has taken place. A Memorial SErvice will be held at the Talman Funeral Home, 3277 King St., Vineland, Monday, June 26 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Halton Hills Memorial Gardens, Burlington, Ont.
    Expressions of sympathy can be made by donating to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
    The family wishes to thank Dr. David Reimer and the staff of Pleasant Manor and Heritage Place for their loving care and support over the last three years. The family is also profoundly grateful for the wonderful support provided by various members of Fairview MB Church St. Catherines.

-- At K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, October 8, 1997, age 67 years, of Waterloo.
    Beloved husband of 44 years to Beatrice Rodger, dear father of one daughter, Joanne of Waterloo and two sons, Philip and his wife Bev of Abbotsford, B.C. and James and his wife Gloria of Waterloo. He is also lovingly remembered by four grandchildren, Sareana, Nicholas, Crystal and Justin; a sister Carol and her husband Ed Pihowich of London; his neices and nephews, Mark Pihowich and his wife Anna of Montreal, Michael Pihowich and his wife Carla of Toronto, Karen and her husband Ron Castelletto of Toronto and Sandra Geisel of Waterloo; his aunt Margaret Hasenpflug of Binghampton, N.Y. He is also fondly remembered by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris Graziano and her husband John Kiepnieks of Belleville and their family.
    He was prediseased by his son, Rodger in 1980; his parents, Orval and Georgina (Kalbfleisch) Hasenpflug and his sister, Geraldine Heide and her husband Gordon Heide.
    Dr. Hasenpflug graduated from the University of Toronto School of Dentistry and practised in Kitchener-Waterloo for 40 years. He loved music and played his clarinet with a number of orchestras and bands. At age 17 he played with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphone, played in the first Oktoberfest Band at the Concordia Club, was a former member of the Waterloo Concert Band and until recently played with the Transylvania Club Band. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
    Dr. Hasenpflug's family received friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday and will continue today (Saturday) from 10-11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo. The funeral service will follow in St. John's Lutheran Church, today (Saturday) at 11 a.m., with Rev. Joe Habibullah and Intern Katherine Adtenburg officiating. Internment to follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.     Following the committal service at the cemetery, friends and relatives are invited to return to St. John's Lutheran Church for lunch and a time to visit with the family.

-- August Hasenpflug, 72, of 17 Gruhn St. died Sunday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness.
    Born in Lexington, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hasenpflug, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He was employed by the W.E. Woelfle Shoe Company Limited for 37 years, and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
    He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Clara Schaefer, December 19, 1947. He is survived by his second wife, the former Clara Amis; a stepson, Robert Amis of Detroit; a stepdaughter, Mrs. George (Doris) Heimbecker of Kitchener; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth) Schenk of Kitchener, and two grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of a family of 10 children.
    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home from where removal will be made at 11 a.m. Wednesday to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church chapel for a service at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by Dr. John Schnieder. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
HASENPFLUG, Clarence "Hausie"

-- On Monday, April 29, 1991, at Stratford General Hospital, Hausie Hasenpflug, of Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton.
    He was a longtime Milverton area resident and was born in Milverton 93 years ago, a son of the late Henry and Priscilla Hasenpflug. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Milverton; was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 265, Milverton and had played the drum in the Milverton Legion Band for many years. He had served overseas in the Canadian Army in the Second World War.
    Beloved husband of the late Luella Kaufman, who died May 20, 1986. Lovingly remember by a brother-in-law, Andrew Kaufman of Tavistock; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Agnes Roth of New Hamburg, Mrs. Martha Kaufman and Mrs. Cora Eckstein, both of Tavistock. Sadly missed by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeseased by one sister, Eleanor in infancy.
    Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 9 Pacific Ave., Milverton, after 7 p.m. this evening (Tuesday) and until Thursday at noon, when transfer will be made to St. Paul's United Church, Milverton, for the service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Neil Lackey officiating. Internment to follow in Greenwood cemetery, Milverton.

    She was born in East Zorra Township 87 years ago, daughter of the late Andrew Kaufman and the former Catherine Heinbuch. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Milverton.
    Beloved wife of Clarence Hasenpflug, whom she married in August, 1935. Lovingly remembered by two brothers, Andrew and Tom Kaufman of Tavistock; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Pearson and Mrs. Cora Eckstein, both of Tavistock, Mrs. Sadie Appel of Stratford and Mrs. Agnes Roth of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by four brothers, Arnold, Bert and Charlie.

MILVERTON, December 8. -- Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. William Appel passed away at her home about 6:30 a.m. yesterday. She was in her 71st year.
    Born in Gadshill, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hasenpflug. She married William Appel 51 years ago. Her husband predeseased her by 11 years.
    Mrs. Appel is survived by two daughters, Luella, at home, and Vera of St. Catherines; one son, L. W. Appel, Stratford; two brothers, Austin of Toronto and Alfred of Kitchener; one sister Mrs. Louis Peffers, Milverton, and five grandchildren.
    Private funeral service will be conducted at the family residence, Main street south, Tuesday, December 9, at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Greenwood cemetery.

-- Suddenly, as the result of a heart attack, at Saugeen Memorial Hospital, Southampton, on Tuesday, July 28, 1987, age 83 years, of 160 Claremont Ave., Kitchener.
    Mrs. Becker was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo and a former member of the Lutheran Church Women. She graduated from University College, University of Toronto in 1926.
    Beloved wife of George M. Becker; dear mother of Betty Jane and her husband, James M. Stephens of Simcoe and loving granny of Mark and Todd. Sister-in-law of Marguerite Becker and Dorothy and Jack Masters, all of Kitchener and aunt of Anne Hussey and Peter Masters. Predeceased by her parents, the former Emma Hasenpflug and Henry Roos.
    Mrs. Becker's family are receiving friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. At noon on Thursday, transfer will be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo, for the funeral service at 2 p.m. (Thursday), with Rev. Jack Dressler officiating.     Mrs. Emma Roos, 86 of 4 Spring St. West, Waterloo, died Tuesday at K-W Hospital after a five-week illness. Born February 28, 1870, in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late John Hasenpflug and his wife, the former Catherine Becker. She lived in Waterloo all her life and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, the Ladies Aid and the Women's Missionary Society.
    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George M. (Helen) Becker of Kitchener; a brother Charles of Rochester and one grandchild. Her husband, Henry Roos, predeceased her in 1908. Two brothers and four sisters also predeceased her.
    The body is at the Edward R. Good Funeral Hom, Waterloo, where the funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. A. L. Conra will officiate. Burial will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery.
HASENPFLUG, William

-- The death of William Hasenpflug, 67, occured at the home of Reinhart V. Heldman, R.R. 2, Baden, early today. Mr. Hasenpflug suffered a stroke.
    He was a farm laborer on the farm of Mr. Heldman. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hasenpflug, he was born at Lexington, August 7, 1880.
    Surviving are two brothers, Henry, Petersburg; and August, Kitchener.
    The body is resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the service will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be made in the Bridgeport Cemetery. Rev. Dr. John Schmeider will officiate.

    She was born 100 years ago in Kitchener, Ontario. Daughter of the lat Henry Hausenplug and the late Magdalena Bisch.
    Wife of the late Alfred Montag. Lovingly remembered by her cousin, Betty Schenk of Kitchener; by her dear friend, Stella Dorscht of Kitchener. Also by her sister-in-law, Mary Montag of Kitchener and Rita Hasenplug of Rutheglen; by her nieces, Mildred Binkley and Margery Brown, both of Kitchener.
    Predeceased by one brother, Wilbert Hausenplug and by nephew, Ron Haffner and niece, Shirley Weber.
    Special thank to the nursing staff and volunteers of the Forest Heights Palliative Care Unit.
    She was a member of the CWL of St. Clements and St. Agatha Parish. Also a member of the Sunshine Club in St. Clements.
    Visitation will be at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St., Wellesley, today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home tonight (Tuesday) at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at St. Agatha RC Church at 11:00 a.m., Father Charles Fedy CR will officiate. Burial in St. Agatha RC Cemetery.

    Mr. Montag was a member of St. Agatha RC Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society and an usher in the church for many years. Mr. Montag was a farmer in St. Agatha for over 40 years.
    Husband of Orillia (nee Hasenpflug); brother of Clayton and his wife Marie of Kitchener; uncle of Ronald and his wife Elsie Haffner of New Hamburg, Mildred Binkley of Kitchener and Margery Brown of Kitchener.
    Predeceased by one sister, Luella Haffner and brother-in-law, Milton and a niece, Shirley Weber.
