We're in This Together Now
Written and sung by Trent Reznor

I've become impossible
holding on to when
when everything seemed to matter more
the two of us
all used and beaten up
watching fate as it flows down the path we have chose

you and me
we're in this together now
none of them can stop us now
we will make it through somehow
you and me
if the world should break in two
until the very end of me
until the very end of you

the farther I fall I'm beside you
as lost as I get I will find you
the deeper the wound I'm inside you
forever and ever I am a part of

you and me
we're in this together now
none of them can stop us now
we will make it through somehow

you and me
if the world should break in two
until the very end of me
until the very end of you

all that we were is gone we have to hold on
all that we were is gone we have to hold on
when all our hope is gone we have to hold on
all that we were is gone but we can hold on

you and me
we're in this together now
none of them can stop us now
we will make it through somehow

you and me
even after everything
you're the queen and I'm the king
nothing else means anything

I love this song. Trent Reznor wrote pure platinum with this one. Read the lyrics. Don't just skim them. Really READ them.

This song is a fabulous relationship song! Straight, gay, tripolar, whatever! This song is sheer mastery.

And if you get a chance to listen to it? It starts off slow, like most relationships. The pulsing back beats and the static combine to create a masterful sound. Then the drums...and guitars...and the lyrics.

I love Trent Reznor's voice. I just have to say that right now. His voice screams out, but it caresses the words at the same time. Does that make sense to you?

You know, I love this song because it's also a great gay relationship song, or a Romeo/Juliet song. Any relationship that people tend to be against, but should be accepted, like those.

This song speaks to me because it doesn't shy away from the darkness that can surround a relationship. People aren't always glad to hear that you got a nice girlfriend when you are a girl. People also tend to not like it when your new boyfriend comes roaring up on a Fatboy in worn leathers and sunglasses, "looking like a young Marlon Brando."

The rawness of the emotion in this song is great. I cannot emphasize this enough. This song is fantastic. If you don't like Nine Inch Nails, but enjoy rock, I would say, please listen to this song. The sound is...for lack of a better word, unique.
