President George W. Bush and President Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland participate in a joint press conference at the in the East Room of the White House on July 17, 2002. Kwasniewski's trip was the first official visit by the Polish head of state to the United States since the September 11 attacks, and comes ahead of NATO's November summit in Prague which is expected to welcome up to seven new members.
