The famous no-good double crosser. He ain't you're friend.

Big burly bloke who talks crap and acts suspiciously, but is a valuable ally.
4) Rebecca Chambers
A trust worthy friend. Good with chemicals and explosives, bad with interlect and likability.
5) Jill Valentine
The young heroine star. Cutting corners are her speciality.
6) Brad Vicars
A chicken wuss chopper pilot who comes up with the goods when needed.
7) Joseph Frost
The token rookie who dies early in the game.
8) Enrico Mallini
Cheated leader who bites the bullet when things go wrong.
9) Kenneth J Sullivan
Not much good seeing as you never see him alive...
10) Richard Eiken
Wandered a little to close to a serpent for his own good.
11) Forrest Spike
When a zombie invites you to dance... blow his head off.

Zombies:
These are the most comman adversaries in Resident Evil. The zombie contingent comprises of the poor lab technicians who becacame infected with the T-virus, but to be fair most of the blood on there shirt is just melon juice...

Tactical Manoeuveres:
There's plenty of fun to be had with zombies, but firstly you must decide if you wish to use the macho tatics and stand your ground and blast them down or simply take evasive action and conserve ammo. If you have the ammo to spare the best tatic is to aim for the heads. If you only have the Beretta then keep back and pick them off gradually. But on the other hand, if you have the Shotgun then wait until they stagger within grabbing distance and then fire a shot, now stand back and laugh as their confused skulls explode amidst a hailing torent of blood and mangled grey matter. If your playing on the gamecube the bodys will stay, and they will come back to life if you dont dispose of the bodys by either blasting there head's off or by buring there body's. Knife: 7-9 hits, Beretta: 4-7hits, Shotgun: 1 hit (close), colt: 1 hit, Bazooka: 1 hit (duh)

Cerberus:
Known simply as devil dog to normal members of society, this neglected pooch would have the hand off any do-gooder RSPCA representive that dared to violate its home. Cerberus is one of the genetically-engineered ginuea pigs running lose through the Racoon city area. It may sound an act like a normal pooch but years of extensive experimenting and genetic altering have taken there toll on these canines, and as a result all traces of affection have long since left there savage bodies. Of course, if you looked at them with one glance you would instinctively know it's going to take more then a few thrown sticks and a few sloppy words to shift them.

Tatical manoeuvres:
The main thing when fighting these manky mutts is their speed. Their enhanced sence of smell enables them to hunt and track you down before you've even had a chance feel their presence. Unless ammo permits otherwise, the main tatic is just run like hell until you see the door but this gets to become annoying after a while and works best in wide spaces. If you have the guns and ammo, simply sit back and blast them while singing "How much is that doggy in the window!" and laughing insanely while they whimper for sympathy.
Note: If you have a shotgun, wait until the have clumped together before firing.
Knife: 9-10 hits, Beretta: 3-6 hits, Shotgun: 3-5 hits, Colt: 2 hits, Bazooka: 1 hit.

Hunters:
Another higly advanced genetically engineered experiment, Hunters are ultimate killing machine and hard to outwit and on top of that their bastards. You'll first encounter these whrn you re-enter the mansion after snooping around the guardhouse. A fmv will indicate that something is following you back into the house, and you look over your sholder just in time to see one of these mutated frog-like creatures homing in on you. At this stage they take over from the zombies as being the most common adversary, and once you encounter seven of these creatures you'll pray for zombies to whisk you away.

Tactical Manoeuvres:
Essentially, you need the Shotgun to take on these preditors. Anything that finishes them off quickly is a considerable bonus. If you take on too much at a time, the Hunter will jump at you from the other side and attack before you have a chance to turn around, which usually results in you being decpitated. Keep them as far as possible so you have time to reload if you dont finnish them off. With a Shotgun they take about five shots to kill taking into account the time to load your next shot, this is hardly effective. Equip yourself with the Colt Python though and they'll be history in two.
Note: Time your attacks. The Hunters tend to jump as soon as they get up after being floored by a blast, so time it so you unleash a follow-up shot just as they're getting on there feet.
Knife: forget it!, Berette: 5-10 hits, Shotgun: 4-5 hits, Colt: 2-4 hits, Bazooka: 2-3 hits.

Killer Bees:
Imagine seeing one of these monsters crawling out of a coke can on the beach! Thankfully, You'll only encounter these obese stingers once throughout the duration of the game, buts that's quite enough. You'll be pleased to learn that an encounter with the bees won't result in death - not straight away at least. They mearly inject a slow working poison into your bloodstream whenever they sting you, and if a blue herb isn't found quickly, you'll wind up one big dead puss-ball!

Tatical Manoeuvres:
What better advice can I give except run, Run, RUN! If you do choose to stay and fight these monsters dont waste ammo on shooting them because you'll miss more then you'll hit. Simply let them attack you and eventually your character will get so pissed off that they'll grab the nearist bee and throw it on the ground, ultimately squashing it underfoot.
Knife: 1 hit, Berretta: 1 hit, Shot gun 1 hit, Colt: 1 hit, Bazooka: Stop wasting your ammo!

Crows:
Like the bees, you won't encounter these spawns-of-the-devil very often either. The Crows look like their everyday counterparts except that the highly contagious virus in the air has caused them to go a bit barmey. As a result you'll find that they want more than stale bread and mouldy chips to satisfy their hunger!

Tatical Manoeuvres:
Out of your two crow encounters, you should only have to fight them once. In the large gallery, they don't attack unless you either press a wrong switch on the paintings or fire off a stray shot in there direction. You can easily pack them off with a Beretta or larger, or I found a knife effective when they nibble to slice them.
Knife: 1-2 hits, Bererra: 1-2 hits Shitgun: 1 hit, Colt: 1 hit, Bazooka: 1 hit.

Small Spiders:
You'll only encounter these citters if you are foolish enough to hang around after disposing of their big mummy. For once the big spiders have been splattered, there egg sack will erupt into a swarm of these nasty critters. In some ways seeing hundreds of these scrrying towards you is more terrifying than the big ones.

Tatical Manoeuvres:
There is only one way to ensure a successful escape from these critters and that is to leave the room and then come back in again. When you re-enter you'll find the room arachnid-free and danger-less.
Knife: Cant be used, Beretta: 1 hit, Shotgun: 1 hit, Colt: 1 hit, Bazooka: 1 hit.

Lab monsters:
Something has gone horribly wrong at some point during the bio experiments if these freaks of nature were ever allowed to be created. You'll find him crawling the floors and ceilings of the power maze (and later the O room). Their form of attack is to ambush you from above by clinging to your back and then rapidly ripping at your stomach with their claw-like hands. Charming!

Tactical Manoeuvres:
Aim your sights high to take them off the ceiling, then when they're grounded blast them full on in the chest to send them reeling back. Remember to keep moving, fire a shot and then change postion, this way they'll find it hard to track you from the ceiling.
Knife: Are you mad?, Beretta: 5-8 hits, Shotgun: 2-4 hits, colt: 2-4 hits, Bazooka: 2 hits.

Spiders:
Even the most hardened of furry-spider lovers will find themselves cowering beind their sofa and suffering numerous embarrassments in the lining of their underpants once they clap eyes on these! And rightly so... they're simply terrifying. Who knows what caused these tarantulas to undergo such dramatic size increase is anyone's guess but there are a total of five spiders running loase somewhere within the confines of the mansion, If your playing the gamecube version there might be a few more!

Tactical manoeuvres:
However huge and intimidating they may look, these spiders will be reduced to a plup amist a shower of gunk after three shots from the Colt. Anything less and they're slightly harder to fend off. If you see them on the ceiling then the best tactic is just to run like hell and return when your firepower is sufficiently upgraded to take them out simply.
Knife: No way, Beretta: 5-7 hits, Shotgun: 3-5 hits, Colt: 3 hits, Bazooka: 3 hits.

Plant 42:
You'll find this savage shrubbery in the guardhouse, An area which Plant 42 has transformed to suit its own living conditions. This thing will outsize any of the other plants you've seen before and adopts a savage and almost animal technique (i.e do bugger all until the pray comes calling then go ape.) You'll find a full report about this garder's nightmare before you actually confront it.

Tactical manoeuvers:
You can significantly weaken the plant by attaching the V-jolt to its roots and then finish it off with the Bazooka flame rounds. Alternatively, by using Jill and then ripping into the bugger with a Shotgun, You'll get to a certain stage in the attack and Plant 42 will grab you with its tenticales. Just when the future looks bleak, barry will burst in and torch it to a cinder with his flame-thrower he is amazingly had handy.
If you're using Chris, stick to the walls and avoid the tenticales as there's nobody to save you. Keep moving around the room to avoid the acid spills, shoot at it when you find a suitable opening.
Knife: Nope, Beretta: 20+ hits, Shotgun: 15-20 hits, Colt: 10-12 hits, Bazooka: 5-7 hits.

Snakes:
By far one of the most jaw-dropping creatures in the playstation's Resident Evil. If your playing on gamecube, this is just a liitle bump in your path in comparsion. The sheer presence of snakes commands fear. There are two big snakes. The first is in the attic and thankfully you don't have to kill while the other is in the lesson room and takes a whole arsenal of weaponry to vanquish.

Tactical manoeuvers:
Overcoming the first snake is simple...in theory. Just crap yourself and run around it, while the second snake will require more effot. Draw forth your Colt and when this oversized snake is still enough for you to shoot, unload as many rounds as you can into its scaly body and change postion. The snakes attack with frightening accuracy and tremondous speed, so just stay on your toes and shot, then run.
Knife: NO!, Beretta: Got a spare couple of days?, Shotgun: 12+ hits, Colt: 10-12 hits, Bazooka: 3-5 hits.

Tyrant:
"The perfect creation" This is the last of Umbrella's creatures you'll encounter in Resident Evil and one of the hardest. You'll first meet Tyrant in the lab when Wesker comes clean about working for Umbrella and sets Tyrant on you. However, Tyrant (being a brainless kind of dude) Turns on Wesker and splatters him on the floor. Note that wesker isn't dead, and that its all just bad camera angles and graphics as this was weskers plan all along. After Wesker, Tyrant will turn his attention to you.

Tactical manoevers:
During the battle in the lab, Tyrant will only follow you at a casual pace, swiping madly if you get in his range. Keep your distance, and then when your ahead unload a few rounds into him and when he starts to catch up move along and repeat the process until he collapeses, apparently dead.
Despite your attempt to shoot his head off, Tyrant will burst out as you are about to make your getaway, and this time he is REALLY angry! Dont bother shooting at it beacuse he will just swipe at you with his claw, so try to keep running from one side of the helipad to the other and take a wide turn each time so you wont run into him. After a long while Brad will drop a rocket launcher within the last few minutes and you can blast him with one shot.
Knife: HAHAHA!, Beretta: HAHA!, Shotgun: 10+hits, Colt: 8-10 hits Bazooka: 5-8 hits, Rocket launcher: 1 hit.

Gamecube: new bosses
Lisa Trevor is the only new boss you will encounter on the gamecube, and you will meet her on three occations the first two occations run around her as she is invincible. On the third time run around the ledge and push the four statues off, she will yell MO-THER and jump off. If your Jill, and you give Barry his gun, he will survive and help, if you dont he will die. Chris will have Wesker helping.
