H&L Inc. take the opener easily
Athens, OH - Trailing 1-0 after the top half of the first inning, Harry & Lloyd Inc. turned on their offensive fire power and never looked back winning 18-4 over the elderly Avionics Engineers..
"It was a solid effort all around," Co-captain Justin Feldkamp said. "We came to play. The intensity was high."
The new look lineup saw Kyle Ramsey start on the hill for the first time in his storied softball career. He pitched well going the distance (4 innings) to pick up his first victory.
The top 3 hitters of the lineup combined to go 7 for 8 with 7 runs batted in and 6 runs scored.
"It was a great way to begin the season," Medley said. "We got the butterflies out of our stomachs. Now we can really play some softball."

Team ties 49 Stewy 5-5
Athens, OH - In quite possibly one of the worst offensive performances in the history of H&L Inc., the orange and blue wasted a strong pitching presentation from Kyle Ramsey to tie 49 Stewy 5-5.
"I couldn't believe it," shortstop Justin Feldkamp
said. "I couldn't hit. Our lack of timely hitting really did us in."
H&L Inc. jumped out to an early lead scoring 3 runs in the top half of the first inning but after two errors in the bottom of the first, the score was tied at 3.
New mid-season acquisition Nate Daugherty provided the only home run of the game when he led off the third inning giving H&L Inc. the lead 4-3.
Bryan Kaiser later drove in another run to make the score 5-3 but in the end both teams tallied 5 runs after seven complete innings - game over.
"I don't like the tie rule," Bryan Petras said. "It's stupid. If we still have time left we should be able to finish the game no matter how many innings we've already played. This is an outcry."

"The top of the lineup struggled with Medley, Couch and Feldkamp only getting 3 hits combined so I knew I had to play well and luckily I did or we wouldn't have had a tie tonight, we would have have a loss," he said.
"It's a bummer that a solid start was kinda ruined with the tie but I do what I can out on the mound," he said. "All I can do is throw strikes and let my teammates make plays. That's what I did. Oh yeah, nice play in the last inning Feldkamp."

Athens, OH - Harry & Lloyd Inc. jumped out to a large 9-0 lead after 2 innings of play but the 1990 Reds (great name mind you) fought back just like Eric Davis, Barry Larkin, Joe Oliver Chris Sabo Paul O'Neill and Jose Rijo would have done to keep the score close at 9-7 but it was not enough as H&L Inc. held on for the 17-15 victory..
"You have to give them credit," catcher Bryan Petras said. "They battled back mainly because of some defensive blunders but hey we got the job done."
Kyle Ramsey had one of his worst outing of the season, allowing 15 runs (9 earned) on 12 hits but mid way through the contest Ramsey sustained a pulled hamstring.
"It hurts like a bitch," he said as he
Brunetti said. "We scored 3 quick runs there in the last inning to give us some insurance runs and as you saw how bad the last half of the last inning went we actually needed to have those runs in order to preserve the win."

Feldkamp's 3 run blast lifts H&L Inc. to win and into the playoffs
Athens, OH - It was quite coudl be the greatest intramural softball game ever, Harry & Lloyd Inc. overcame a 2 run deficit in the bottom half of the last inning to claim a 10-9 victory.
After scoring a run to make the score 7-6 heading into the top of the 7th (final inning), all H&L Inc. needed to do was hold the Ballsmackers to no runs and the game was over.
However, some miscues in the field allowed the opponent to score 3 runs, making it 9-7 in favor of the undefeated Ballsmackers.
   Then magic happened.
Brandon Medley led off the inning with an out. Then Kevin Lewis and Kyle Ramsey each hit crucial base hits. David Couch followed with a groudout and then the stage was set.
With 2 outs and a 2-2 count, Justin Feldkamp took the next pitch way over the left fielder's head for a 3-run walk-off homer, clinching the win 10-9 over the Ballsmackers.
"I just wanted to get a hit in between the infield and the outfield. Yes a homer here wins it but what are the chances of that happening," Feldkamp said. "I knew I had (Bryan)
Kaiser and (Ton) Brunetti behind me. They could have done the job as well."
"I wouldn't want anyone else up to bat in that situation," Brunetti said. "Feldkamp is totally capable of coming through in that situation and as you saw, he was."
The win sends H&L Inc. into the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
This is how Feldkamp celebrates his game winning homer. Think she can handle it?
"I just want to thank the fans. I mean the Super Fans come out to every game and show their utmost support. It's great. I love playing in front of them."
Kyle Ramsey
"Each game I set out to do one thing and that's to get a victory. This season we've now done that 3 times. We clinched a spot in the playoffs and this season I want it to end differently."
