Announcing the release of the new HARRY BAGGS CD:
After nearly ten months of recording and assembly, my new CD entitled "A Forest In Your Mind" is ready to be released to the unsuspecting public.
This is my third solo project in three years, following the same Punkadelic lines as the previous releases.

This site is dedicated to the building of this CD, the songs, and the people who helped me complete it. It may be of interest to musicians, home recording enthusiast', and fans.

As this site is still being developed, I will soon add information about the songs and the recording process.
A very special thanks to the musicians who have contributed.........
"A Forest In Your Mind" was recorded at Saxon Sound - my home studio - which is based around the Roland VS-880. All songs were written, recorded, and produced by Harry Baggs between January and October of 2003'. The only exception is "Queen Nymphett" which was written by Michael Lloyd and The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band - who have been a big influence on the music of this CD, and my past two CDs.
Meet the players.....
Quincy played drums and bass on most of the songs. He also played drums and bass on the "Orange & Red" and the "Wake & Bake" CDs. Currently Quincy plays bass for HEADWOUND and numerous side projects. He contributed to much of the fun and madness that made this CD come alive.
Rich has been my friend and musical companion for 40+ years. We started playing together in the late 60's as TRIXX and went through numerous bands that ended with MECHANICAL BRIDE shortly before he moved to California. Well Rich is back, and he contributed 12-string tracks to some of the songs, as well as a fueled solo to the song "Doors". We grew up influenced by The Byrds, and you'll find a lot if that influence mixed within the songs. Currently, he is working with me to re-record some Mechanical Bride material that never made it, and will also be featured on my next project..
Anthony is currently playing in The Accelerators - a long standing NJ Punk band that carries on the tradition of Ramones inspired R&R. He contributed 12-string acoustic tracks to some of the songs on this CD.
Anthony has been no stranger to Saxon - having recorded several solo songs, and being a major player in works we have (and currently still have) working with 60's radical and street poet David Peel. He has a great collection of guitars, and he knows how to make them rock.
Larry plays drums on two of the cuts on this CD. He plays with the band SPLITROCK - a NJ based hard rock band that recorded their first demo here at Saxon. We had a lot of fun getting Larry's drum tracks down - and I think that can be heard in the songs.
He is also a historian of New Jersey Hardcore, and has a great site built around the legendary Mental Abuse that you should check out.
Jim is also a member of the band SPLITROCK - and like Larry, we met when they came to Saxon to do their demo. I liked Jim's voice, and asked him if he'd help out on "Now More Than Ever" - which turned out to be one of the songs I couldn't sing.
He has a great voice, and a great stage personality. His help - and the fun we had during the sessions - was a big boost in making this song work. If you'd like to find out more about SPLITROCK - please

Joel's been involved in the NJ Punk scene for a long time - playing with Squiggy, The Graveyard School, and in the Undead with Bobby Steel - to name a few. Currently, he is in California playing with The Sixth Chamber.
Joel plays drums on "When The Ships Return From Hell", and his style added to the "spice" that makes this CD interesting.
I met Farrell online - through one of the various Home Recording discussion groups. Over the last year, we've shared music, ideas, and recording skills. He resides in California where he records and performs solo and with the JMZ Band. His songs are top notch, and matched by his musicianship. He contributed harmonica to "Queen Nymphett" - via the internet. It was an interesting project that worked great, and we continue to trade tracks and music. You can hear more of Farrell's music by visiting his SoundClick site: CLICK HERE.
" I knew a place where the Greasers used to go......."
" I was born in a two-bit town, in Nowhere USA....."
" All my life I went to schools that taught me not to think...."
" We're better off if we just don't move...."
"Peace is not a privilege for thos who understand........
It's the right of every animal, every woman, every man..."
" For years this hidden pirate town, has had it's share of scorn..."
" Stay away from dirty old men....."
Currently working with HEADWOUND and several side projects, this is my third solo CD. The music is Retro-Punk with a strong psychedelic edge that makes it "listening" music for minds that won't surrender and still have time for fun in a world of blunt analysis..
