Obsessions come and go in my life with frightening regularity. But a few never change. And one of them is Terrence Mann. Why do I love the man? Well, first of all, how many actors are there out there who could play an enchanted prince, a tomcat, a presidential assassin, and a French policeman (well, ok, he did that twice), among others? And make them all believable? How many men can say “told you so” quite like Terrence? There are lots of men out there who make me swoon. Lots of men whose voices literally move me to tears. But no one’s voice makes me sigh in quite the same way Terrence’s does. And he’s so adorable! :-) So, anyway, I decided to make this little tribute page to the man who started my Javert fetish, the man responsible for my cat being named Rum Tum Tugger, the reason I taped that Angela Lansbury Mrs. Santa Claus special when I don’t even like Angela Lansbury ... well, I could go on, but I won’t. :-)

Most recently Terrence was appearing on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show. That show has now closed and he is apparently working on composing a new musical version of Romeo and Juliet. Besides being a Tony-nominated actor, Terrence is well respected as a director, and I for one am thrilled to see him branching out in yet another direction. I’m sure he’ll be as great at composing as he is at everything else! Good luck, Terrence! There are a lot of us out here pulling for you!

I finally got a chance to meet Terrence in November of 2001 and he was as charming and gracious as I had heard he would be. He was obviously exhausted after two performances, but he took time to speak to everyone who was waiting. After being a fan for more than ten years, it was a huge thrill, and I came away from his performance and the meeting with more admiration than ever for Terrence as an actor and as a person.

Disclaimer: Neither this page nor I have any affiliation with Terrence Mann or any of the shows he has been involved in. I am simply a fan.
