I first fell in love with Anthony Crivello when my friend Elizabeth gave me a copy of Kiss of the Spider Woman with Anthony, Chita Rivera and (*sigh*) Brent Carver. Even though I wasn’t entirely sympathetic to Anthony’s character, Valentin, his voice absolutely sent chills up and down my spine everytime I heard him sing. My interest increased when I saw Anthony play Grantaire on the Les Mis Tenth Anniversary video - his Grantaire was heartbreaking, even just standing in front of a microphone. And then, Anthony played Edward Rochester in the Toronto production of Jane Eyre. A true obsession was born.

Anthony most recently appeared on the Broadway stage in the winter of 2000 in The Lincoln Center’s production of Marie Christine with the phenomenal Audra McDonald. Unfortunately, I have yet to see him on stage, and this production wasn't any different. :-( But I’m sure he gave a thrilling performance, and I'm anxiously waiting for my next opportunity to see him perform (which I'll probably also miss :-).
