Rewiring your fog lights-Brent Murray

I installed 2 12" JL Audio 12w6 subwoofers and a 600 watt Rockford Fosgate amp for them. I have a rockford fosgate 400a4 amp on my mids and highs. The front 6 speakers are rockford fosgate as well.

The subs run into a Aiwa Mp3-Cd player. Its cool, I can put up to or more than 10 hours of music on one CD-RW disc and play them in my car. Then, when I am tired of those songs, I just erase the cd and make a new one! I love this thing!

I put silver custom drilled aluminum Racing pedals in the car and makes it look really clean and fast.

I took the LONG stock shifter and cut it in half right below the big ring that the stock knob went above, and now the throw is much shorter. I could not use the shift knob because there are no threads to attach it too, so I bought a carbon fiber one. Now the shifter is a lot shorter and looks a lot better.

I then proceeded to custom paint my interior. The outside of the car is red, the inside of the car is dark grey and I thought it would look really cool if the inside was silver and black! So I asked around and found the best paint that would work for my project. I took my dashboard apart and painted the inside of the dash silver around the dials. I wanted the dials to be white but, I think this looks better. After the dash, I took off the plate around the CD player and the plastic piece around the gearshifter. Then I painted them silver. It looks excellent! I took the vents at the top of the dash and painted them silver too. Pictures of it are in the picture section.

I decided to take out my spare tire because of many reasons. My speakers didnt fit and the only thing stopping them were the spare tire. Another reason was because of the weight. The spare was quite heavy. I also removed the covering around the hatch back so you can see the red frame and I think it looks real neat.

I replaced my stock antenna with a small rubber one. I like it better because everytime you switch cds, you hear the motor running that makes the antenna move. So, for 7 dollars, I bought a small unbreakable black antenna from Pep Boys.

While I was buying my antenna, I decided to look at interior lights for my car. I saw some blue lights and thought it might look cool if I made my dash blue at night. Well, I bought two blue lights that fit in my dash but as soon as I opened my dash, I found that there are 6 or 7 lights that light up the dash. So, I fooled around with all the lights in the car and it turned up that the blue lights ended up for the side marker lights. It looks "good."

As I was installing my new short antenna, I had to remove the siding around the hatchback. I decided to just keep it out and also remove the spare tire. It removed a few pounds from the car yet I gained them right back when I have my subs in.
I went ahead and took a little piece of plywood and screwed my amp down to it and then attached my sub box to it as well.

Well.... I finally made my side marker lights clear! I had a few days to play around with them. The left one broke so I decided to try out the clear corners. I figured, hey- If I mess this one up, I have to buy a new one anyway so I wont be losing anything. I made the left one and it turned out well. I finished the right one and they look great-except for the broken pieces. I had the blue lights in the markers so, at night, the sides glow blue! I think it looks really cool. Next- I am going to get some black vinal and then make some borders to go on my windshield. Then do the two little fins in the front in black too. Oh, and the side markers lights. After the vinal, I am going to upgrade my lights to the cool blue or some whiter lights.

Today, I went the the grocery store and cashed in all my change that had been lying around in my room. It came out to be $40.12 so I decided to go and either buy the Sylvania Cool Blue head lights or a roll of sticker vinal. I went to Pep Boys and to advanced auto parts and neither of them had the vinal. I bought the Cool blue lights (which are not blue). I installed them and they look a little brighter in the day than the other ones. I will have to wait until night to see the real difference. The lights were 19.99 dollars each. I thought that was a little high but I got them anyways. I will try to get pictures of them so I can post them in my pictures page.

I was at Pep boys and I was walking back to my car and I noticed that my windshield wiper arms had lost most of their paint. I went home and painted them black again and it looks a lot better to me. Most people just say, "Yeah, they are supposed to be black!" That is what seperates me from them. The knowing that I made my car better than it was a little while ago- I guess.
Today I made my fog lights independent. I hooke them up to my tail light fuse and now they come on when I have the inside lights and tails on. It looks good. Now I can have my fog lights on without my headlights or if I have my brights on. I am glad I did this and it didnt take long at all.Murrays directions to rewiring your fog lights.
I took the interior customization a step further and painted the inside trim on my doors. It took a while to pull the whole inside of the door off but it was definitly worth it.
I pulled my dash apart and decided to make my dash lights white instead of the usual green color. I did that by removing the little green rubber transparent coverings that are on the clear bulbs. I like it a lot better.
I found an interesting preformance mod that I could do myself from Henry, another fellow celica owner. You can take PVC piping and actually make your own Iceman cold air intake! I made mine and just need to get a filter for it. You can visit his car site Right here!

I put 2001 celica gts wheels and yokohoma advan 205/50-R16 tires on the car for a really good look.

I took my suspension to a higher level by installing H&R lowering springs and all new KYB struts. It handles almost perfect. I now need a rear sway bar and new bushings. That will be a sweet time when thats all done- THe car looks faster and has a lower, more stable stance as well.

I made a full custom sub enclosure in august 2001 that really finishes off the car for a real professional look. I did it all myself. There are pics up in the picture section but i have since revised my system setup so it looks even better. If i wasnt so lazy, i would post more pictures of it.
