Life shrinks or expands in
proportion to one's courage....
There are a few moments in ones life which are decisive moments. At such times one is forced by what I would call devine providence or an intervention over which one has no power over.We are to choose between either giving up or making the circumstance into an opportunity.

There is not just one reason to do that.At least not for me at the time I finally heard the word   '
Autism" across the chasm of my utter distress and I reached out and began to build a bridgeof tears and laughter, of utter distress and an equally greater strength, of unanswered questions and my passion to find answers. From this darkness I created light and thus the birth of this page.It is my humble attempt to share with other families and individuals who are reaching out to understand this complex  yet tangible world of 'Autism'.

Let me introduce myself. I am the  mother of a beautiful boy.He is eight and going to be nine in July.
He has been diagnosed with having
PDD-NOS/Aspergers Syndrome. He falls on the high-functioning side of the autism spectrum disorder. As if that is to make you feel good!I wonder in my lower moments...

When I first found out after the evaluation for which we had requested the school,I was like a raving maniac. For me the only way to cope with whatever happens in life is to learn as much as I can about it.I raided our local library and I was reading into the night. I found ecstacy,I found pain,I found answers and I found more questions.Out of the chaos I was able to sift and start picking up my pieces and in this journey which has just begun six months ago I can assure you that there is absolute peace. My son has opened new doors for me.I want to take others on this journey along with me and so this page is taking its shape through my thoughts and experiences.

We are at the threshold of whatever lies ahead for us.I want to make a promise to myself and to my son: No matter what we will never give up.

Following are some sites I have found extremely relevant and helpful:

The Discovery of "Aspie" Criteria...
The Institutes For the Achievment of Human Potential
O.A.S.I.S
TIME Magazine:The Secrets of Autism
Autism Society Of America
PDD-NOS
Oops..wrong planet syndrome..
Despite the fact that the internet is a powerful tool I still love reading books and with this recent development in our lives I take the time to keep some place for non-fiction also! Which means I make the effort of reading about Autism and some of the books I have read are worth reading, if you are liking my recommendations uptill now.

This is just the beginning of something greater, and I do not mean merely my page...
We are at the threshold of knowing what the Universe is and how complex the brain is..only in acceptance will we find peace..accept the Universe for its Greatness and accept the Human Mind for its depth and its diversity..accept everyone as they are...the greatness will follow....

Last word: "It is the responsibility of every adult..to make sure that children hear what we have learned from the lessons of life and to hear over and over that we love them and that they are not alone."
