The main event of shaving began
11:00am on May 6, 2006, at The Legion in Hanna; it was a full day event with a head being shaved every ½ hour or less!  There was a BBQ operated by the Hanna Citizens on Patrol, music played by Audio Trends, live auctions, silent auctions, face painting, professional photos, etc, etc.  Members of the Calgary City Police Cops4Cancer Ironman Team were also present on their bikes, as well as representatives of the Canadian Cancer Society.   There was also an early bird head shave that began at noon on May 5, 2006 at ATB Financial in Hanna!

Prior to each head shave there was a live auction held whereby the highest bidder began the shaving of the head for the participant of their choice.  The remainder of the head shave, which for many officers included a straight-blade shave, was conducted by Kim Karg & Jacelyn Moench of
The Hair Zone, who volunteered their services.

Several businesses in Hanna were actively involved in gathering pledges for participants of the event.

We are still accepting donations, so if you would like to make a pledge, please contact Cst. PEYTON of the Hanna RCMP Detachment at 403-854-3393 or email at
