Fans could also be games or toys, made to amuse and advertise, as well as to cool the body! This presentation will educate as well as entertain all who see it, about this unique vintage accessory. Definitely a crowd pleaser!

FANS OF THE VICTORIAN ERA:     People are intrigued Victorian period, from 1837-1901. There is a good reason for this. So much of our antique treasures came from that period. It was a time of wonderful growth, with new inventions and changing styles. Of course, the Victorian period is a perfect time to focus on this functional fashion accessory, the hand fan.

ADVERTISING HAND FANS: Like the T-Shirts and baseball caps of today, advertising was commonly found on hand fans. These “advertising fans” promoted every product or service imaginable. Autos, beverages, candies, perfumes, hotels insurance and medicines were all cleverly displayed on hand fans. Brand names from the past and present are shown in this colorful hand fan program.
