North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Raleigh, NC Child Nutrition Project Project Lead J2EE & Struts Development, Linux Administrator, Oracle 9iAS R2/R3 Administrator, Oracle DBA (Contract 1099) 12/2003 – Present
Perot Systems Tampa, FL, Plano, TX DIGITAL CLAIMS HIPAA development (Contract 1099) 4/2003 – 12/2003
My primary responsibility is configuration and deployment of the Digital Claims HIPAA application. The application uses Java, JSP, Struts, EJB, Corba, and JavaScript. It is deployed to a Sun Solaris 8 multi-tier environment and developed on Windows 2000, Solaris and Linux. The project uses Oracle 9iAS R2 application server, Oracle 9i databases, and Vitria Business Ware version 3.1. I also provide support and troubleshooting services. I created an Oracle 9iAS R2 Cluster, configured the Discoverer component, Internet Directory user data loading, PL/SQL automatic triggers, Unified Messaging server configuration, and session backup and replication configuration. This system also uses an Oracle 11i BIS system for tracking healthcare billing and payment and data mining on archived transactions. The BIS system is a combination of oracle ERP and oracle CRM. The Oracle Financials module, which is part of oracle ERP, is used for accounting, human resources payroll data, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and it has a custom module for a people soft time tracking system. The goal of the complete system is to give a complete performance picture, ad hoc statistics, and scheduled performance statistics for the efficiency of health care billing, efficiency and productivity of employees, profit projects, and customer service. I modified the backend database design to make it the central point of integration for all of these tools.
Anonymous Company/Companies Coral Gables B-to-B product Development (Contract 1099) 1/2002 – Present
My primary responsibility is design and implementation of Business-to-Business products. The primary products are technical articles, content management systems, dynamic content web sites, relational database designs, graphical user interfaces, CRM solutions and E-commerce solutions. My writing assignments have also included one book about implementing Oracle 11i Business Intelligence Systems. The primary technologies for the solutions are WebObjects, J2EE JSP, Oracle 8i database / 9i 9iAS, PL/SQL, Relational Design, Solaris/HPUX/Linux. The WebObjects interfaces are designed to be installed on Sun Solaris, HPUX, and Windows NT. The primary programming language used is Java. The interface allows non-technical users to manage data that is stored inside of databases through a web form that follows database constraints and internal relationships. The E-commerce and online catalog products are designed for three tier or two tier architectures. I created dynamic web pages using JSP. I also created a set of oracle relational database designs for the data. The primary systems are on Sun Ultra 60 and Sun 220R hardware. I am the primary administrator for Oracle and Solaris 8. This solution uses Oracle, J2EE, JSP, EJB, JDBC, and Internet Application Server. Finally I am responsible for occasional application maintenance contracts on ATG Dynamo and WebObjects Applications and multi-tier configurations.
Sony Latin America Miami, FL Applications Manager (Contract - Tek Systems) 2/2001 - 2/2002
I created a complete production, staging and development system for e-commerce and online catalog sites. The environment holds twelve Sony web sites and is composed of twelve Sun Solaris Unix Systems. I installed the operating systems, application servers and common software, designed the structure of the applications, databases, and their relations to the physical network. My daily tasks were database backups, system backups, and recovery of deleted data or deleted files, application development and graphical user interface development. The purpose of the environment is to provide maximum security, speed, and reliable systems with multiple fail over systems. The development system is also designed for remote development access from more than twelve different countries. The system uses two application servers. The e-commerce sites use ATG Dynamo 5.1, and the rest use Oracle 9iAS.
Univision 2001 Miami, FL System Administrator / Applications Developer (Contract - Tek Systems) 2/2001 - 7/2001
I maintained the database and application servers that are used for internal operations at Univision and the oracle database that is used for univision.com. I also developed a graphical user interface for an oracle database using WebObjects.
Mars Music 2001, Miami, FL System Administrator (W-2) 9/2000 - 2/2001
My daily responsibility was system backups, software installation, application server management, remote management of servers in other states, data models for oracle, database backups, and system security.
Hewlett Packard 2000 Cupertino, CA Java Developer, Oracle DBA, HPUX Administrator Release System/Version Control Project (Contract - Dataforce US) 3/2000 - 8/2000 My objectives for the Release and Version Control system were to repair the existing system within one month, document the existing system, plan and design a new system, maintain an HPUX Unix server, and then build a new system with a graphical user interface. The existing system uses PERL, and C on an HPUX 11.00 Unix platform. I recreated the release system in Java with a web based graphical interface. I also created a new oracle relational database design and migrated some of the existing data to the new design. http://www.hpshopping.com
Nortel Networks RTP North Carolina Web Developer / WebObjects Developer, Unix Administrator (Contract - Procom) 10/1999 - 3/2000
I created a Metrics application that uses Web Objects Java, Objective-C, Web Script, XML, oracle servlet engine, apache modules, and an Oracle Database. The application collects web server logs from all web servers at midnight, inserts sections from each line of each log into database table columns. It then generates statistics from the data in the database tables. The web interface can be used to display graphs and data online or the data can be exported to excel format. I wrote documentation and weekly reports, and I was responsible for maintenance of the company’s website applications. The primary platforms that I developed on and maintained were Sun Solaris 7 Unix and HPUX 10.20. http://www.nortelnetworks.com
Bank of America Charlotte, North Carolina Web Developer, Sybase DBA (Contract - Sai Software) 1/1998 - 10/1999
My responsibility for the Bank of America contract was to help build the new www.bankofamerica.com web site after the merger of Bank of America and Nations Bank. I was responsible for CGI applications, Web Forms, GUI design, and Graphics. My primary sections of the site were all pages under contact us links, installations of PERL scripts, installation of graphics and the tradestreeinv.com site. The CGI applications are written PERL and C++. The data capture and ftp programs are written Java. The contact us system is a secure e-mail system that uses Java and SSL. I also took problem reports for daily site maintenance. My secondary duties included maintenance of Live Wire Scripts and Sybase/Oracle Database applications. Live Wire is server-side JavaScript that is used to integrate the online banking systems, Merlin bank branch applications, telephone banking, and the mainframe systems. The primary operating we used is Sun Solaris Unix. The primary technologies used on the project are HTML, C++, XML, Cold Fusion, PERL, Live Wire, and JavaScript and Java.
