Shawn has revised his original article, and it would seem that our refutation had a lot to do with that, as Shawn stated in his foreword:

"It remains substantially what was written then except for some changes that I decided to make after the work was assaulted by a very insolent and spiteful group of extreme Integrists."

As our goal here is to explain the Traditionalist position, and point out the errors made by the Conciliarists, we do not feel the need to go into a tit for tat insult battle with Shawn, for this reason we shall keep updating our original article, further strengthening our position with scholarly works, documentation, and theological arguments.

Lastly, it would be useful to further point out that Shawn’s article was not necessarily chosen because I. Shawn McElhinney wrote it, but, rather, because it is a basic compilation of arguments used by the average Conciliar "catholics," and it afforded us a good opportunity to deal with these arguments all at once.

INTRODUCTION

On June 6, in the 2,000^th year of Our Lord, there appeared on the internet a 300 page long attack on Traditional Catholicism. The title of this treatise was "A Prescription Against Traditionalism"

This treatise took upon itself the task of refuting Traditional Catholicism and various arguments used by Traditional Catholics. Among the topics covered by this treatise was the infamous "Novus Ordo Missae." This portion of the treatise attempted to prove that the Novus Ordo was thoroughly Catholic and valid- in addition to answering various Traditional Catholic arguments against the Novus Ordo Missae.

The article on the Novus Ordo Missae was so full of false history, misrepresentations, and ridiculous statements that the authors of the websites mentioned above have taken it upon themselves to respond to this portion of Shawn’s treatise on the Novus Ordo, in full, line by line. The result is an article over a 150 pages long, and heavily documented - an article that thoroughly refutes Shawn’s arguments in favor of the Novus Ordo.
