REC Wafer is the world’s largest manufacturer of multi-crystalline wafers in the rapidly expanding solar cell industry. A wafer is a thin slice of silicon with semiconductor properties, and is the key component in a solar cell, which converts sunlight into electricity. The REC group of companies is a leading player in the solar cell industry participating in the entire value chain.

Corporate Controller

  • Investment evaluations of expansion and new factory projects, provide financial decision support to production, build current year and longterm financial forecasting overview at division level. Definition and roll out of standard financial routines across the division.
  • Factory controller for wafer manufacturing plant with annual sales volume of 250 million Euros. Dedicated to facility from ramp-up to fully stabilized operations.
  • Project financial controller for new 100 million euro production facility completed in September 2006. Implemented a new reporting and control system for factory buildouts.

Application Cluster Manager - Sourcing and Manufacturing Systems

  • Managed a team of internal business systems consultants and developed a strategic plan for decommissioning the supply chain's Legacy IT systems. Became the senior systems analyst on the project team which successfully replaced the legacy infrastructure with a custom developed web-based order tracking solution.

Senior Consultant - Global Agresso Academy

  • Responsible for course development and training delivery to implementation consultants for the Supply Chain module teaching both in Norway and internationally. Established the company's first certification program for Supply Chain consultants.

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group has a global presence in financial markets.  Managed 3 separate engagements with the bank while simultaneously attending a full-time MBA program.

  • Performed financial review and post-implementation audits of IT and banking infrastructure projects - total £75 million. Reports and briefing documents prepared for Group Board of Director audience. Review of business cases, budget and decision support work for back office banking functions.

VanCity Enterprises Ltd.
Vancouver, Canada

The wholly-owned real estate development subsidiary of a market leading regional financial institution.  Established in 1989, the company undertook several award winning mixed residential and commercial including the signature redevelopment of the parent company's head office building above an existing commuter rail station.

Manager of Real Estate Development and Finance

  • Progressed from a financial controller role to a Managment position after 2 years with the company. I was either directly responsible for the delivery of projects or acted as the key reviewer of legal and financial terms. Over 300 housing units and 13,000 square meters of commercial space developed. Total value of capital investment $89 million. Had full responsibility for financial control, investment evaluation and budget function.

  • Negotiated and underwrote mezzanine financing facilities on the equity portion of $32 million in property development. Deals earned in excess of 45% annually over the projects' 2-3 year lifetime.

  • Acting Vice President for six month period during 1996 with full project portfolio and Board reporting responsibilities.
